Didn't know it came in a manual
That's a very good point and the GT3 comes under that banner nowDoes an auto deserve to be drivers car of the year ?
Or have the mags forgot about manual, EVO keep trying Manual Cayman and boxster and love them.
Even the R8 V10 plus car is manual on the EVO fleet.
I cannot see a auto being called a true drivers car.

looking at the laps times it smashed the 991 GT3 also

unlike what the GT3 boys say on their thread where the GT3 is said to pull away over the 458S....
Now this may come across as controversial but it's not meant to be and is only my view on the S. and powers away on the straights

Not sure what it is with Ferraris but they seem pretty inconsistent one to another. I've seen data and videos where the S spanks other cars. But my experience of it is that it is only marginally quicker than a regular 458 in a straight line and controversially, marginally slower than a Scuderia. I have no experience of it on track.
It also feels too polished a car, I'd even call it anodyne unless you're really on it or being a hooligan with ESP off (when i have to say it is magical within my limited abilities). So most of the time it just does not feel special (excuse the pun). The Scud is the better car in my view. Much more interactive and raw.
The newer cars are ultra competent no doubt, but they've also lost some magic. I've not driven a 991 GT3 but have a horrible feeling that might also fall into the ultra competent camp.

I for one would swap my 991GT3 for a 458S in a heartbeat, sod it, ill even add 20k if anyone's interested...and powers away on the straights

There's a few on here that have no driven one, and seem to be an absolute authority on driving experience and future values....mostly negative....
I'm not one to praise a car 'because I bought it'...there's the Aston forum for that.
You simply cannot have subjective, honest and concrete opinion until you have driven one IMO.
