'Its power is transmitted by a standard six-speed manual gearbox with dynamic gearbox mounts - there is no PDK transmission option.'
This is a very interesting development, or maybe thats an anti-development!
This is a very bold statement isnt it? They could have easily given a PDK option and charged for it!
I am not sure exactly what their strategy is, but bravo!

This is confusing to me; 10 years of wanting Porsche to release a Cayman with a 911 engine, a proper LSD and Motorsport addenda, and the moment it does so, cue the disappointment? Is it the GT4 labelling that rankles in the face of expectation?
For what it's worth, I think this thing is stunning. A Cayman has been an object of desire that I've never quite been able to get myself to want to pay for, but I'd have this in a heart beat; over any current 911, GT3 included.

I like the steering wheel ...
not sure what to say bar it's not very bespoke imo, in fact the R was more bespoke.
Not sure if this is serious or wilfully obtuse. Let's count the ways:not sure what to say bar it's not very bespoke imo, in fact the R was more bespoke.
A stiffened bodyshell, new suspension, an entirely different engine, a custom body kit, new aerodynamics, recalibrated steering, a new steering wheel and the option of new seats.
How on earth is the Cayman R more bespoke?

GT3 front axle, completely new rear axle, 410mm front PCCBs, 380mm front steel brakes... same as 991 GT3
GT3 PASM dampers, GT3 steering
fk me, this is the real deal.
Same weight as GTS, 1340kg DIN 1415kg EG
7800 rpm redline, no dry sump, cup tyres, mechanical 27/27 lsd
its not limited but "they wont make 5000, 6000, 7000 cars"
N/A engines will stay around "for a longer while"
