My dealer said £65k + options
I am hoping the buckets come standard plus a SS, PSE and a LSD.
I don't want PCCB if the disks are the 380mm ones with 6 pots.
Don't want CS if it's just a cage/harness.
So I'll add xenons, full leather, Climate, PCM, Bluetooth, i'll colour code the lower part of the wing mirror if possible and have white dials, add any sports mode options and finish off the car in RS orange :-), or Yellow of no good launch colours.
I am hoping for £75k speced up.
Given that the buckets were £2.5k on the GT3, isn't it optimistic to expect these as standard on the GT4??I am hoping the buckets come standard plus a SS, PSE and a LSD.

Just out of interest, what do coloured dials and painted wing mirrors add to the driving experience?
It just shows the sort of audience this car will appeal to etc etc

At £65k + options it's not going to be limited most likely will be built on same basis as the CR !early cars in high demand tailing off towards end of production!with the new 981.2 with more power and quicker albeit turbo!
There is no way the sec generation 981 will be quicker than the GT4.sidicks said:

The GT3 has also attracted a new profile of person , if Ferry Porsche was asked his view on stitching, what would he say? Just out of interest, what do coloured dials and painted wing mirrors add to the driving experience?

The GT4 promises a lot, and Porsche do not let their flock down.

Both excellent cars - on track and at a concours event.

Apart from not offering a manual in the GT3! Despite AP saying it'd never happen "Grandmas can use paddles. They aren't challenging"
I have a lusting for a 997 GT3, doubt I ever will for anything newer with paddles!
Drive a 991 GT3 and then decide. A quantum leap from the 997, it is different and better in many ways. It will be revered when we have a hybrid/electric GT3.I have a lusting for a 997 GT3, doubt I ever will for anything newer with paddles!

Ethos piece is definitely a potential issue. But if you already have an R, then the R has bits as std that would add pretty significant cost to a gen 1 cayman and that are also desirable. GT3 doors, passive sports suspension and bucket seats for example are all fitted as std to the CR.
But if a boggo gen 1 can be had for 15k?, the money youd save would be more than enough to fit better suspension set-up, seats etc than taking a cr (@40k?) and upgrading it. I know parr did a turbo conversion for around 10k and a guy on 911uk bought it.SunnyD thought you was waiting for the rs version
If it has pasm then im out as it wont be racecar ethos

Don't disagree, but you have to live for today, with cars that are best suited to today's overall environment - comfort, ease of driving, safety, toys, optics, competition etc

Mermaid, I get it, I really do, I've driven PDKs, including on track, I accept it allows you more focus or cornering, braking etc.
But, I did not enjoy it anywhere near as much as the full strength version i.e. clutch, gearbox. I get MUCH more satisfaction using a manual box!
Unless you're racing, I don't give a toss about 0.2s to 60 or 2s round a track. Time is irrelevant on a track compared to driver satisfaction/enjoyment...
But, that's just me, if you love yours, then fair enough!

My dream car circa 250ps (but not more than 300), sub 1200kgs, rwd. hydraulic steering, 6 speed manual close ratio, lsd, decent but not overpowerful brakes, no electronic toys, simple aero, no more than 265 tyres... something like that, and yes I do like a/c.But, I did not enjoy it anywhere near as much as the full strength version i.e. clutch, gearbox.
