Hahaha I see PH hasn't changed one iota. I do not think I can ever beat this post hence au revoir PH hehe

She will be on display at 9e for a few weeks. If you'd like to have look around or any queries on costs etc Ken happy to share.
Blimey, it looks sensational. You must be thrilled. Are the seat backs painted mint too? (can't tell with the covers on them).
So, if i recall, they chose this colour and surprised you yep?
And you are leaving PH? why?

Minty2 now looks as fast as she goes! 600+@ wheels and those looks is a nice combo

Not sure if that was a pop at me?

The GT2 kit looks sensational and colour is purely personal. I loved FG but if MG striking too, nice link back to that 964 turbo colour IIRC

At around £30k for that transformation, I'd say that's a bit of a bargain!

Missed opportunity there if they haven’t. I did query if they had done it. Hard to tell from the pics with the protection sheets on them.

I'm speaking to 9e who have tuned this to circa 700PS and popping up to see this magnificent car at OPC Reading again later this month. I have a time warp 2006 997 turbo and there's a strong temptation to pick up the phone to 9e/OPC Reading. Costs :

9e 28 power kit : £26k +VAT (700ps this includes genuine 997 GT2 turbos with hybrid 62mm 9e compressor wheels, competition intercoolers, sports exhaust etc)
GT2 body kit : £32k (with 25% discount via 9e and £6k plus VAT to fit)
GT Chassis : £10k +VAT ( inc Tractive touring, GT2 front/rear arb, GT2 brake cooling, GT2 engine and gearbox mounts)
Brembo GT :£5k + VAT
PTS Mint Grun : £30k + VAT (via Porsche Special Ops @ PRG Reading i.e. Muriel who I am meeting with OP)

OP has done all this in two stages ie power and chassis. Then aero etc but you know compared to what we are paying to restore air-cooled this list of Porsche Motorsport inspired parts (or better) upgrades are fabulous value IMO. I'm going to have a drive courtesy of OP in Sept after 9e shake her down and report back.

I’m not sure that I would call it good value in any way shape or form, the numbers are ridiculous.

That doesn’t stop it from being utterly amazing I might point out!

If it’s exactly what one man wants and he’s comfortable with the spend then fair play to him, what they’ve achieved with his considerable spend is indeed lovely.

I agree in one hit you look at it and think just buy a GT2. But in stages when your old chassis is worn or brakes shot etc?....Wunderbar. Sie ist perfekt wink

Flipping heck that’s £131k of mods eek

Assume £50k for the donor car

What does a GT2 go for these days if you can find one (all RS versions in PH classifieds)

GT2 circa £130k. A PTS GT2 if you can find one maybe £200k as GT2 RS now £395k.

But just look at it. I'd have that over any GT2 or GT2 RS. I don't think a 991 GT2 RS would see which way Minty went on a greasy wet UK road in. You'd need a 991 or 992 turbo s to stay with Minty IMO and I've driven both I prefer my own manual turbo. Few vids of the car performing earlier in this thread. It's fast. Very fast. evil

Having done over 200+mph in it on a number of occasions and road driven it I can confidently say its looks now match the power.
Absolutely awesome thing. You can also potter around with the ac on without any issues too!

I have nothing but admiration for what OP has achieved here and his financial dedication to the cause. He has created a car exactly to his liking and I am sure is ecstatic with the results which look amazing.

I don’t have the guts or need to go that fast so think my money would go on a GT2 plus PTS respray or more likely a 992TS which must be similarly quick

Has IMI A posted a Vmax video vs a 992TS?

I'd do the same if I had the funds to create something special and unique like that for myself!
