Cars in the south, cheaper than the Midland based ones.

Gasp. The £180k car still doesn't seem to be sold? Must be a mistake and the dealer has forgotten to update the ad. Still this thread seems to be still relevant as the £165k GT3 has arrived again. On the way back down from £180.....

Impact of the GT4 & the 991RS and a dose of LHD/reality.

Anybody have any idea what the "book" value on these cars are.
Mine is a driver but insurance renewal is due. Value has a strong impact on premium, would be nice to know roughly where the values lie. I know a friend had an offer a few months ago of £150k.

Anybody with real world experience please feel to PM me.

Thanks in advance

I was offered similar money for low mileage and again without even negotiating. But at the moment insured only for 135k as value have soared since I took out the policy...

Only today upped mine from £140k to £170k with resultant increased premium of £70. Fair value.

My £125k list car is currently insured for £165k. Should be a good starting point for negotiations with the insurance company if the worst happens!

Ours is now insured with Hiscox at £160,000, with no increase in premium! They did request an official valuation which they arranged. I can only see the 991 GT3 slowly creeping up in value, what else is there out there that comes close at that sort of money?

£150, 000 thought Porsche Insurance, 5% lift in premium.

Hiscox were 20% more in original quotation on my car, so not surprising there was no increase in premium. I think tha fact they didn't lift the premium tells it own story.

To be fair to Hiscox, you do pay more, but in my experience making a claim is a relative pleasure (at least it was when I had to claim on my house insurance, so I see no reason why same wouldn't apply with a car insurance claim).

Having said that, my car isn't currentky insured with Hiscox!
