I dont understand people paying 150k+ ..crazy. Just buy a LHD one, same car, and then the wheel is on the best side for driving on the best roads.. Simples. Also with PDK the difference in driving a leftie is minimal...

I prefer 911s in LHD form anyway.. As they were designed...
Couldn't agree more. £200K for a 991 GT3 is madness when LHD cars are so much cheaper. Anyone paying that for a car is very stupid in my opinion when you can easily source a quality LHD car for circa £100K less. It's not a daily drive so LHD won't be a problem and if anything make it more of an occasion.

Still cannot figure out why Porsche would not make a Generation 2 of the 991 GT3. confused

I don't see a reason why they wouldn't?

The 991 GT3 RS will come as PDK or manual so they might as well put out a 991.2 GT3 with the same transmissions. GT4 clearly shows there's still a market for manuals and AP says atmospheric engines are here to stay for the GT line.
Sorry to be so blunt — the current GT3 would go down in history as "that GT3 with the chocolate engine that was only sold as PDK-S".

Better enjoy those exorbitant residuals while they last...

To most people perception is more important than reality. Those of use who drive these cars and older Pork which apparently have 'chocolate engines' know just how good and reliable they actually are.

LMAO hey i missed out on my chocolates too!!

Damn too many haters on this forum and why does everyone seem to attack Apollo especially when he's been on point with the prices? Demand and supply drives prices and its clear to see people are buying these cars - simple economics. Not every owner is on PH. Enjoy your cars whatever you own and stop judging others for not doing what you would.

With you all the way Apolo, some of these guys seem to wallow in their bath of avarice.

Do we know if any of £150k cars have sold yet ? Doesn't look like my old car has yet .

I had heard most of the recent purchases have been by specialists rather than individuals who aren't advertising all the cars they have , which would be a smart move . The highest actual sale I've heard of is just under £140k . Does anyone know of a verified sale I.e someone on here ?

But heh , Whether £140 , 50 or 60+ it's still a great car which has delivered a great return for the lucky few :-)

It seems the car should have been priced at £125K + options.

Are prices flying north because the new GT3 RS is rumoured to be a turbo engine or because of a lack of supply? Its surprising how many owners say they won't ever take their GT3 on track as it must be difficult to get the most out of a car that delivers peak power between 8000 and 9000 rpm or am I incorrect and is it very useable and tractable between the typical 2000 rpm to 5000 rpm rev range on typical roads with usual traffic? I've seen loads of GT3s pootling around London in traffic.

All this price talk is a little tedious, just looking forward to some nice weather to get the car out and enjoy it. I am not smart enough to buy vehicles for investment but with all my previous GT3's the depreciation has been more than manageable. Hopefully this trend continues in the future.

Just need some quiet Scottish roads and nice weather to get her run in!

I know of one that sold for more than 140.

I do think these prices are a little crazy but then again, people will pay what they think they are worth and that's the way the market works!

Would I pay £20m for a flat in Kensington over a stately home in Surrey? No! I would not but that does not mean the man who did buy the flat is wrong.

I would love a 991GT3 but I don't think I'll ever have one if the prices keep going the same way but that's OK as I have a 997GT3 which is the next best thing biggrin

165k is a bargain given that a 5 year old RS with c.20k miles costs even more...

Just like the PH massive say "These cars can only go up so buy one today"! wink

Guys, love mine. Really do. Have barely driven it properly and really like it. But 165k ? Sounds like a lot of money to me. And would make me hesitate for a LHD Speciale tbh.

But maybe I have not driven enough mine. 400 miles is not a lot :-)
nice, I would just stick it in a garage until it's £200k

Cars you cannot lose on - I certainly put the first PDK-S 991 GT3, first Porsche Rear-wheel steer, production circ 1 year etc in that category.

Not a very well written article imv, there have been plenty of cars that have been north of list from the off, 4.0RS, 288GTO, etc, as for the car in the article, I know cars at list and ?....From a price point see no reason as to why this will not track the original F1, apart from the highs of the past few years

Btw, The 991 Turbo S, Sep 13 was the 1st RWS P production car, or rather the few 918s that were del early mid in 13 were......
