911 returnd from dealer with molegrips in suspension spring
Discussion
Look it all boils down to accountability I'm sure Porsche have a procedure for suspension installation ,I'd be surprised if they haven't
God forbid that you'd had an accident or caused injury to a 3rd party . The OPC should have responded in a way that left you with some satisfaction that they took their mistake seriously, this bullst about the little and big man is what's wrong in our society. If this had happened in USA they would respond by doing their upmost to maintain your custom and assure you that they will look into this matter and address it so it does not happen again etc etc
When u go to an OPC most times an apprentice is servicing your car etc just think of the opportunities they had to capture this, which idiot banged the wheel back on what was he dreaming about.
It takes approx 2 minutes to do a check on this type of work before boxing up
No I'd be bloody concerned if ever taking my car again to that OP and I'd pass the word around etc.
That's why I've always used indies and carefully monitored their work and attitude.
My reply to their response would be to play on their light hearted approach and lack of concern, I would not accept their reply and demand some action taking my voice to their service waiting room when it was full of clients ,
Did that at a VW dealership who'd serviced wife's car a week and 100 miles later brake pads were down to the metal

FFS, took it for a good spin this weekend, now have a fairly constant creaking coming from the right hand front suspension. Happy days!
Will be back onto OPC tomorrow.
Independant inspection. You're going to be banging your head against a brick wall trying to get the person who cocked it up in the first place to look for faults and fix them....Will be back onto OPC tomorrow.

But everything was ok checked by our senior mechanic how dare you suggest the noise you supposedly heard was your suspension grieving the removal of the mole gripsWill be back onto OPC tomorrow.

Are you a member of AA give them a call. Or definitely go for an indie inspection and when you go to the OPC. Make sure you raise your voice in the reception and make your point before they take u into a private interigation room with the White light and noise O Have your I phone on record and ask following
Is it usual practice to use mole grips in this application
Leaving the mole grips in like you did do you not consider that the suspension was impaired and the car dangerous to drive
Now your chance to put things right your second inspection and removal of the mole grips revealed no damage did you at that point take car for a test drive etc

I'd have more confidence if they got Natalie in accounts to check it over, but it sound like the poor girls already got plenty on her plate.richardrsc said:
Nope, the next day the creaking went away again and hasn't returned. I'm sure it will return again at some point, at which point OPC will no doubt put it down to wear and tear!
My car is not going there again.
give us all a clue what street would your car never venture down againMy car is not going there again.

I spoke too soon, it came back. Following a call, it is going back, for all new bits. It would appear the Porsche themselves read these threads, so if there is a Natalie in Accounts that happens to be reading, sincerest apologies Edited by richardrsc on Thursday 2nd April 15:49

Bravo Porsche, doing the right thing - still surprised it didn't get sorted by the original OPC. I take it the car's going back to them?Gassing Station | Porsche General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
