Hi

I've got two fairly well regarded Porsche indies near me, Jaz and RPM Technik. But the cost for servicing at RPM is 3 times as much as Jaz. This is the first time i've needed a service, are RPM worth that much more?

I've got a 10 year/60k service coming up on my 05 Boxster 987 (2.7), and have contacted both about servicing costs. The costs for Jaz are £264 inc VAT, and the cost for RPM Technik is £640.

It looks like the extras that come with RPM as standard are to remove wheels and clean/lube hubs, and change the spark plugs & drive belt, but doesn't have a brake fluid change, which would push it up even more.

Jaz is the standard requirements in the service book, along with brake fluid change and treated roof & door seals/ water holes draining.

Has anyone used either and can they recommend? I don't mind spending more, but if Jaz are just as good as RPM, it seems silly to spend more than is neccessary.

Can't imagine you'll hear a bad thing about either of them. Jaz look after mine and I've always been delighted. No idea if the extra bits are worth it.

Well I've used Jaz on all my 911's and still use for my current 996 turbo.

You really need to get a like for like quote or ask RPM why they're so much more.

Another vote for Jaz! smile

Been using RPM for 8 years so far, and no need to change yet. Ask them if the plug change is a requirement at 60k, as that will be a large part of the cost.

I imagine there is a plug change involved that accounts for the difference.

I agree been using JAZ for 10 years now steve and the rest of the guys are first class it sounds like you have a minor service price from JAz and a major service cost from RPM ?

I've known Darren and Ollie at RPM for quite a few years now and my car has been there a number of times. I always recommend them to Porsche owners in my area when the question comes up on forums. They have a big operation now and their workshops are extremely well equipped.
