Turbo S in the canyons..
Discussion
I started this thread to show guys how capable the 991 Turbo S was in the canyons and it surprises me how good it really is but as usual the trolls always join in and try show how much they really know about cars and driving and they succeeded..
So trolls please continue doing what you do best..... Nothing

I'm pretty sure we don't have canyons in England, certainly not ones we can drive in. Your hand positioning would scare the st out of me if I was passenger with you. But I do agree with you we shouldn't be crossing the centre lines on the road, whats the point? its not like we're trying to set lap times.
The next best thing to canyons in the UK must be Oulton Park, so here's me in my 964 pushing quite hard, with my hands in the correct place.

look if he don't go above 60 mph and don't cross the lines and taps his feet and listens to tunes, he does not have to catch the car as the rear will be planted at all time, so one can steer like a **** it don't matter.
It's painfull to watch and if the rear did let go he would have no clue where straight was, it was painfull on SELOC following his 211 and it's painfull here watching the turbo.
if the car got out of shape he would be dead, it's that simple.

Sorry Frank, this is the best that I could find for you, I'm not sure how he made it to the top with his shocking wheel action https://youtu.be/jIHxakBes0wI don’t know, a keen driving enthusiast comes on here and posts a video of himself having a good time driving a fabulous car on some fabulous roads and it mostly descends into another slanging match, I mean, come on what’s wrong with some of you guys ?
If the OP wants to drive with his hands in whatever position he feels free then so be it, conversely the OP should not tell others to do the same. If you’re really pressing on then 10 to 2 is the norm.
IMO, these cars are WAY too fast to get the max from on a public road, trying to do so is madness, get them on a track
[ I know many of you do to your credit ]
Posts like this are quite amusing in a way, and TBH I struggle to decide if a lot of it is a wind up, I’d like to think so as if some of these posts are serious some of you need to take a long hard look at yourself.
To the OP, no, sadly we do not have “canyons”, but we do have some fabulous gravel roads, which with the right equipment are a riot to drive on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y5oRnHSnLk4 look, see, mostly 10 to 2

Thanks the car feels like I'm cheating every time I enter a tight corner. The all wheel steering is so nice when you have so much torque mid corner...
Respect to you for being out there and doing it on what look to be great roads (rather than just posing like so many do) respect too for taking the time to make the vid and posting it Impressive video quality too Buuut ......... It all looks just a bit too "easy" and lacking in any sense of engagement or for that matter any real input on your part. That's not a criticism of you, your driving, or your choice of car, it's just that viewing it leaves me feeling very cold, it could almost be a computer game we're watching.
I'm not doubting the car's speed, and yes, I'm sure you're right, the turbo would most likely spank all but the very best drivers in a 991 GT3 (but that too is a car I don't aspire to own)
Personally I'd rather see more vids of you working harder behind the wheel of your RS211, than watch the "computer game" like videos of you behind the wheel of the 991 Turbo
Thanks for posting anyhow, it's 12 degrees and raining here currently .....
The RS211 is much quicker but it requires a different mentality { I don't want to die ] The Turbo S tells me not to wreck a $200k car driving like a fool.
Smooth is good and the more I drive the Turbo S the better I feel as a driver. Now to see if any of that smoothness translates to the RS211 on the same road..
I'm not racing or even pushing it hard so there is no need for a fixed death grip on the wheel or is there a need to apex corners with a car designed to actually corner with it's all wheel drive and all wheel steering and above all stay in it's own lane...
This is an amazing daily driver and all I can say is if you have the funds I highly recommend this car, you won't be disappointed...
I'll continue to drive the safest way I know how and I hope most of you do the same.....
Keep posting videos PistonHeads is better with them..

Good man! Keep posting videos PistonHeads is better with them..
Hope you get your 211 fixed up and back on the road soon, it's a great looking car.
I wish you many more safe enjoyable miles in good health!
I've really enjoyed your posts & videos - keep 'me coming ... (and continue to give aa good as you get... ) otherwise it will get sterile on PH.....
Some feel the need to quickly step in, criticise & get nasty, especially hidden behind Forum names.
We all need to get out more and use these great cars on whatever roads we have access to.... Just back from a drive to my fav 'Porsche Specialist'

You do realise that the 991 GT3 owner who made the video is a regular on here?
