I have the good fortune to think about a new toy - don't know why but here we are
So, have 9934S + 991 GT3 + SL500
All great cars in their own right but as the 9934S and GT3 are worth silly money I find myself using them on a restricted basis
So the SL 500 is used mostly
Oddly enough the SL500 was crunched in London so spent three weeks in the garage during which time I had Carrera 2S as a loan car
Nice as it was it was nothing compared to the GT3 - nothing !
So, I now realise that my toy has to be non Porsche as I have two of the best + I like the contrast with the SL500 v the sports car
But I am stuck! Thought of CL63 AMG - too big, CLS63 AMG - don't like the profile , Audi ????, RS6 salon ? BMW - M6 ??? Maserati - no thanks
Jaguar XFR ? Mmmm, not old enough
Budget about £30,000 max
Stuck ...... any thoughts welcomed

No point leaving the GT3 in the garage, it's not an investment and I don't believe that sensible mileage will harm residuals to any great extent. Personally I'd go V8 RS4 with a Milltex exhaust. So, have 9934S + 991 GT3 + SL500

The 993 (if its a good one and wears high mileage) will not depreciate much more if you put another 10/20k on it - DRIVE IT!All great cars in their own right but as the 9934S and GT3 are worth silly money I find myself using them on a restricted basis

The GT3 (is currently worth around £40/50k more than list) Sell it and release the equity or keep it and risk enjoyment for the lure of capital growth. Either way, you should drive the sodding car as that's what its for!
This whole dilemma you claim to have seems odd to me. It's like having two Victoria Secrets models lounging in bed at home and you are surfing adult websites lusting after others!

That made me smile - but I just like cars and the money I save by not having two Victoria Secrets models on my bed I can spend on another car ....The GT3 (is currently worth around £40/50k more than list) Sell it and release the equity or keep it and risk enjoyment for the lure of capital growth. Realistically (on a bid basis) I think £25k premium is the maximum you would realise on sale, and personally I think prices will stabilise / decline from here, albeit very slowly.V8KSN said:

Exactly!Definitely the e90 e93 M3........cracking value having taken a hit with the turboed new model which imo is an inferior, uglier and lardier car...especially the coupe. Hydraulic steering and last of the V8 screamers should prop up residuals too. Bizarrly, non carbon fibre roofed e90 widely regarded as driving better than the coupe.
Other possibility is penultimate model RS4 which is holding up well, but whilst a decent package, nowhere near as engaging as the M3.
