Best Porsche for £12k?
Discussion
I'm not treating this thread as seriously as you seem to be... but in any case my small amounts of research have made me (if ever) recommend a 2.7 over any of the other 98* engines.
But I still think the 'best' cars are from the era when the engineers were in charge. Any 924 944 and (I'm stretching to the) 968 that are costing 12k today are ones in good condition. The decent 952s for sale now seem to be advertised for nearer to 20k.

I wish people would stop using the word 'investment' as any upside is usually lost by any big expenditure. They do offer great value for money and should be depreciation proof, but running and maintenance costs can be expensive, it's a Porsche after all.
Couldn't agree more. These aren't going to treble in price anytime soon.Odd comment about Caymans and Boxster. They are both fine cars.

This is where I would put my cash. Not everybodies favourite but 171mph and timeless shape.

Nah, joking aside I've always liked the 928. Still a head turner many years later.
