Have a box arrived today with some AWE side window wind diffusers to fit (Porsche need to fix the buffeting on their cars as you cannot drive with the window open ever !!!)
I've read about this, and that these ought to be a fix - but don't have the same experience with the windows open - seems fine to me?boxsey said:
Saw three GT4s out enjoying themselves at Oulton Park yesterday. They sure make a great noise on the downshift as they brake for Old Hall bend. A couple of us were there in our Cayman Rs. Had a nice chat about the cars with the owner of the green one. Nice to meet you Jonathan.
Would you consider one Boxsey, over the CR?Fokker said:

He he...I was asked the exact same question by a passenger as I was hard on the brakes ready to turn in to the knickerbrook chicane. Not the best timing to be asked! But yes, the GT4 is the favourite to replace the CR at some point in the future.
Both great cars but the GT4 is that little bit more raw and LOUD!Fokker said:

GT4 is less raw imo lol , as for loud, it seems a current trend is for as loud as possible. Even Lotus bring out a track day car which will not meet any track day noise regs !!! GT4 fails at Goodwood and Bedford !If you want lap times get the GT4, if you want to enjoy the feel of a car more at lower speeds buy a Cayman R and spend £10k on it and save £45k.
I'll take my R as a road only use car over a GT4 any day of the week for a bit of fun, and do most days. There is something just so right about how an R makes you feel.
you cannot really put an R vs a GT4 debate, they are nothing like the same experience.

You are hilarious...
why is that funny ?, did you not sell you 1st GT4 because it was not raw enough for a GT car, then you bought some 911 thing, and now have another GT4 which is now RAW !I think hilarious is the word I was looking for ;-p a GT4 is not now RAW just because the GTS was a bit dull.

The last thing i want to do it get into an argument with you on here where you simply picked up on my using the word raw. I'll wait until I see you at the next meet and have a word with you there.I think hilarious is the word I was looking for ;-p a GT4 is not now RAW just because the GTS was a bit dull.
For the record I didn't sell the GT4 because it wasn't raw enough, why would I buy a GTS in that case if I wanted more raw? I just wanted a 911 GTS experience which I never called dull?? You are simply making things up as usual due to your unstable personality / condition. Do you remember meeting me at the RS day? You were like a little mouse and indeed you turned up in a mouses car - An Audi A1 to a Porsche event!
Your frankly unaccpetable comments have been well and truly noted this time pal

Hi,
New GT4 owner here, picking the car up on Friday and was wondering if there's anything I should be looking out for or any general tips or opinions on the car would be greatly appreciated.
many thanks
The only thing to look out for is a load of people on here telling you bough the wrong spec, seats, colour etc etc. What ever you bought I wish you well, they are cracking cars no matter what flavour you chose. Have fun.New GT4 owner here, picking the car up on Friday and was wondering if there's anything I should be looking out for or any general tips or opinions on the car would be greatly appreciated.

I collected mine new from Porche Centre West London when they were renovating the main showroom from what is now the service centre, I had travelled roughly 4 - 5 meters before the chin spoiler scraped the ground exiting the service centre. No real drama but the look I got from my partner wasn't ideal. Driveways, the slightest dip in a road, turning onto or off a road with a high crown/camber and speed bumps need to be looked out for.New GT4 owner here, picking the car up on Friday and was wondering if there's anything I should be looking out for or any general tips or opinions on the car would be greatly appreciated.

Cold tyres especially in the wet, they are suprisingly lively at the rear when cold and/or wet even at very low speed.
Enjoy

Niggles:
1. The extended fuel tank doesn't register - You will have more fuel than you realise.
2. Oil gauge doesn't always work for me
3. Chin spoiler as mentioned - same happened to me at West London.
4. PPF behind rear wheels on bumper - its picks up an insane amount of stone chips.
Other than that, so much fun regardless of weather.

2. Do you mean it sometimes doesn't work at all, or are you checking before oil is to temp, and car stationary?
