I can confirm this car made me feel somewhat queasy (thats me doing my best ballast impression in the pic above).
It really does go well and looks amazing, even at a damp Silverstone.

are you going to be at any track days on the continent with it? would love to see and hear it in action at some point
Definitely the embryo of a plan to do Spa next summer... biggrin
Cool track day at Spa sounds good - if you post up the date here, I’ll try to make it the low power/heavy Fiat smile

Cheers. Yes I'm stupidly happy with it and Matt at Fearnsport has done a simply incredible job bringing it up to his usual standards.

Dammit missed the fez day, though if the porker makes me queasy I fear for the fez interior!

Love the F40 Francis. Congratulations. A thing of beauty.
Matt is one of the good guys.
Have not seen him in a while.
Must pop in and say hello next time I'm at Silverstone

Carillo rods are 1700+vat but opening her up to replace them is going to cost a fortune; not sure how much but for example head studs alone are a grand... and then you'll want to do a load more stuff "while you're in there" and get crank, cylinders etc measured up which can soon turn ot into a massive build. Been down that road with my 3.8; unless you're going to open her up for a big upgrade my advice would be just buy 1 rod on ebay and keep it on your desk smile

36 quid each adds up quick for some bolts! That said it occurs to me it might be possible to do the rods without taking the cylinders off, not sure.

I can think of of a couple of minor "obstacles" biggrin but I'd love to see you try it all the same Francis .... hehe

Ha. The piston can't come out the bottom end? It's not my fault if you can't get the piston off the rod inside the cylinder, I'll just get a better mechanic! wink

Do you know what internals the current engine has, it could have uprated rods and head studs already? It is possible to change the rods without splitting the cases btw.
