It didn't, was only running 360ish bhp. Whole thing was torn down first, inspected and measured up to make sure nothing was left to chance. Crank was good but not perfect so is being machined along with heads being ported and ring groove put in and the new Mahle 3.4 cylinders are getting machined too. All good fun!fblm said:

Ha. The piston can't come out the bottom end? It's not my fault if you can't get the piston off the rod inside the cylinder, I'll just get a better mechanic!
Anything is doable ... after all, where there's a will, there's a way !!10 minutes with this :
followed by half an hour with these :
should do the job.
What's left probably won't be of much use, but those suckers will be out, and you definitely won't have removed the heads or barrels
