OPC Porsche dealer issue - advice needed

To summarise, purchasing a used porsche form an OPC - 997 7 years old 20k miles
Very happy with car condition , spec and, mileage, ecu readouts etc. Was told a 4 private owner car. Asked some questions prior to payment around If the car was ever a Porsche gb car or ex demo. Dealer stated no and as far they can tell it has only had four private owners from new.
Their Response didn't fill me with confidence so I asked them to find out. They came back saying they can't find out details of first registered owner.
Took matters into my own hands and within a couple of calls was on the phone to the OPC who first sold the car. Turns out the car was a demonstrator for a year and 4k miles.
Obviously upset and although car would be under warranty has left a bad taste in my mouth. Not sure which is worse scenario either being given inaccurate information on purpose or them not bothering to find out for me.
I feel it is a critical part of car history and they should be obligated to know this detail and share it. Concerned with clutch life and any engine damage that will rear its head later in life due to it being thrashed for its first 4k miles.
Is this normal? Unsure how to proceed

Geez mate, get a life, all second hand porkys will have been trashed some time in there life, you have seen the ecu results, just buy it, it has warrantee what else could you ask for.....Very happy with car condition , spec and, mileage, ecu readouts etc. Was told a 4 private owner car. OPC do not share info between them unless owned by same franchise so I do not believe you were being deliberately mislead. Wouldn't bother me at all. I was going to buy the ex porsche GB car 911 HUL (2009 997.1 turbo) but vendor unscrupulously sold it to someone else for more money after agreeing a price with me which was disappointing. Ex demo/Press cars are very well looked after. You also have 2 years warranty which can be renewed for up to 15 years from date of registration!
I think you're worrying unnecessarily about something that doesn't matter.
Who says it was thrashed for the first 4k miles, it could have been a registered demo to make up numbers and the DP drove it home and back.
Also, and has been said, who says the subsequent owners didn't redline it from cold everytime they used it?
If you want a zero risk car, buy a new one or if you're not happy with this one, go and find another one, they aren't exactly in short supply.

Have struggled to get all the invoices from the OPC.. will ask for again.

Wouldn't particularly bother me.
There was a time when a lot of cars were pre-registered and used as 'management' cars. Yes, different people may have driven it, but it would have been under the care of an OPC, so things should have been looked after.
Plenty of privately, or company, owned cars may well have had a harder life.

If it helps, my first Porsche was a 'management special'. It had covered 2,500 miles and was 6 months old. They said it was the managers car for driving to and from home, but given that the air-con didn't work from the off and the manager claimed he didn't realise (it had been baking hot for weeks), I suspected it was being used for demos. In any case, I bought it, not knowing anything about rev checks etc. When I came to sell it, this concerned me, but having it checked, showed it had never pinged off any limit, even stage 1, so...it goes to prove two things, firstly, not all demo cars are a cause for concern (the air-con issue for a faulty console module, nothing more), and secondly, that I clearly don't drive me cars hard enough!

I don't see an issue, only issues imo are the Porsche tracked cars at Silverstone, one would want to know the history of one of those as they are sold on cheaper.

I think buying your first Porsche should be special experience. Waiting for a call back but not sure they care about the experience and have just offered deposit back.
Appreciate everyone's views. They are in line with mine..
1.) it's under warranty who cares etx.

Yeah your not going to be happy but then again how often is that going to happen. Even as a demo very few are going to do that and I test drive a lot, and further to this any performance car I have driven I have been told to take it slow if the cars cold.
Plus I think too many people go overboard with the whole dont thrash from cold, I personally dont but not on purpose.. If a performance engine cant handle that in this day and age then its not much of an engine.

Given Porsche's track record of building less than robust water cooled engines, I prefer to air on the side of caution until the temperatures are up.I bought a GT3 off an OPC and had forgotten to take the service book with me after buying. Turns out, there wasn't one to take! Took months to get a replacement and then, shock horror, the service history was patchy.
It was a wake up call that you never trust a salesman. I went to an OPC for security; now i'll never take 'their word' again!

Many first time buyers think the same because to them it's big ticket item compared to cars they've bought before. The reality is that to a Porsche sales person, we're just another number that contributes to their monthly figures. Just like any other car sales person.
