mine seeing the light of day for the first time in 10 years probably going to take me that to restore/ pay for the restoration of it, but it was my recently departed dads so worth it
Condolences. It's going to be quite the journey with the car and you're just at the beginning - good luck.

Wow! Be well worth it in the end, no doubt. But these projects EAT money. All the best with it, keep us posted. Dad will be looking down, so don’t change the colour! The flat tyres don’t help the appearance.
Are the engine & gearbox ok or don’t you know yet?
Engine and gearbox are ok it’s the rotted out roof skin that scares me. It’s a uk RHD 1978 2.7s.
Hopefully do most of it myself with help from competent friends.
I’m under no illusions about restoration costs spiralling out of control but other than the box and engine they are relatively simple

Good man! Keep us informed. Get the roof skin sorted by the ‘right’ people. You don’t want to have to do it twice. Hopefully do most of it myself with help from competent friends.

I think the gold wheels would suit the black car more than the pale blue Cab. Just IMO. FastAndy said:

Speak to Robin at Auto Umbau, he's an expert in air cooled stuff and has panels made up out of corrosion resiatant alloy that will make sure you only have to do it once. I don't know the price but he'd be worth a call.Hopefully do most of it myself with help from competent friends.
