Well promised myself Gold at next refurb. Not bad. More subtle than silver actually.

mine seeing the light of day for the first time in 10 years probably going to take me that to restore/ pay for the restoration of it, but it was my recently departed dads so worth it

I think the gold wheels would suit the black car more than the pale blue Cab. Just IMO. smile

Condolences.

It's going to be quite the journey with the car and you're just at the beginning - good luck. thumbup

Wow! Be well worth it in the end, no doubt. But these projects EAT money. frown All the best with it, keep us posted. Dad will be looking down, so don’t change the colour! wink

The flat tyres don’t help the appearance. laugh

Are the engine & gearbox ok or don’t you know yet? eek

Engine and gearbox are ok it’s the rotted out roof skin that scares me. It’s a uk RHD 1978 2.7s.

Hopefully do most of it myself with help from competent friends.

I’m under no illusions about restoration costs spiralling out of control but other than the box and engine they are relatively simple

Good man! Keep us informed. Get the roof skin sorted by the ‘right’ people. You don’t want to have to do it twice. frown

100% silver nicest for me. BBS F1 and F1 R not sold in silver any more only black, platinum, bronze or gold so went for bronze and will custom finish silver once they need refurb. The wheels look very different in the flesh though. Much better than in pics where they look either too dull or a bit too OTT.

They do, with alarming regularity. Especially those ring-necked parakeets. I'd like to wring their necks...

Speak to Robin at Auto Umbau, he's an expert in air cooled stuff and has panels made up out of corrosion resiatant alloy that will make sure you only have to do it once. I don't know the price but he'd be worth a call.

laugh got to cover the plates, I get enough speeding tickets without some tw4t cloning!

I think if I was looking for a 997 again..... probably still go for black. You can’t go wrong really. smile
