A picture a day... Porsche
Discussion
Well, we had a good morning
Me in the 2 litre is the odd one out here. Bad company but in a good way. Low RWB 964 has 350k kms on it!
Marcel decided to treat his 1968 912 to his own taste. Loving it!
Joost 1988 3.2 in all its glory. Olaf 1984 red - brown! - streetracer throws flames!
IMO the 997.2 incarnation of the GT3 RS is the most pure. RWB 964, 912, 964 RS tribute and '84 SC but only from the outside.
My daughter (17) needed to go along and choose 3 outlaws. This 300 brake 964 RS tribute is a total riot.

Not really, there have been quite a few tiptronics with similar mileage advertised at £25k.
There are a couple at the moment.
One with 68k miles for £32k out there.
So £23k including the 6% on an auction, which comes with risks in regards to how much will need spending on it to get it to be worth £25-28k I think is about right.
I think it is more that we have just got used to people over paying on the Collecting Cars auctions.
There is a 3.6 Tiptronic 997.1 (80K miles) on Collecting Cars up for auction today. It finishes around 7.20p.m. This evening. It will be interesting to see where the sale price ends up compared with this 996 Turbo at £21,500There are a couple at the moment.

I know given the choice I would have the 996 Turbo all day long... as most on here would I’m sure.
No excuses for gearbox... both Tiptronic. One Mezger engined & one Chocolate engined. Less than £1000 difference in hammer price. Like I said, I would be pretty disappointed if I owned a 996 Turbo.

No envy for a newer Porsche at all, I am absolutely happy with what I have - until kids get bigger and I can move to a 996GT3 - but I love this car, it’s a great daily albeit the mezger and gearbox take a while to wake up!
Great angle, I love it, but I'm very biased. Looks UFO in Silver, also like the mirror of the picture Evo featured recently in the Ecoty episode a few months ago.Interesting that your lower side sills are body colour, mine are unpainted on a black car it's plastic rather than metal but it actually makes a nice curve to see it.

Some good rounding btw, it's 71,000 miles vs 110,000 miles, everyone knows the mental barrier of the magic 100k. So a leggy tip 996T is at £23k(after fees) at auction, sounds not far off right, a good buy for sure. This doesn't mean you will pickup a clean 60k manual on AT for 30k.....and it certainly doesn't put them on par with every vanilla 997.1No excuses for gearbox... both Tiptronic. Don’t get me wrong here .. I would take 996 Turbo all day long over a 997.1 Carrera. Loads of 996 T for sale at £33K + but are they selling? I don’t think so. IF only they had put round/oval headlights in it! Porsche put a massive dunces cap on the 996 with those headlights. ..plus the interiors were a bit

Great to see ... we are still locked down ... Mint Green is very special on a 964 ...
Well, it's not really legal but we are careful drivers Minty is a 305 brake lightweight weapon and my daughter needed headphones to communicate with the owner and driver. A riot if there ever was one.Mariosbt said:
Personally think the 996 is ageing very very well. Suspect good cars are selling and changing hands in the background, I’m not sure where you are getting this brilliant info on the 996T market and how many are/are not selling 😂. There are always cars which stick around on the market for many different reasons, doesn’t make the entire market overpriced

I think the 996 is ageing better than the 997.1 - but as ever it's model-by-model ... I think the base 997 looks nicer and I think the 996 turbo and C4S look far nicer than their 997 counterparts!
The interior in the 996 is also ageing very well. It's a simple design and the instruments very legible. The 997 has a lot of silver plastic and "bling" to my eyes. But the great thing is we all like different things.
