The haves and the have nots.....

Givenchy for the 959ers.

Shops aside, that 993 is considerably prettier than that 959.

The 'inboard' OE 959 wheels are the biggest visual detraction.

I observed a 959 recently getting an MOT at Dunsfold - it looked good (to me) in the flesh. But not the wheels.

There’s too much overhang and bulk at the back of the 959.

The sweeping curvature of the roofline, through the rear screen and engine lid, to the rear valance, is one of the 911s design sweet spots. Sans aérofrein arrière.

Back when i was recommissioning a 1967 911S in 2007 i needed a new lower dash roll and some trim bits. my neighbour said a guy a few streets down has a 1960's 911 and was trying to sell it. I went round and it was a white 1966 2.0 , originally Swedish and ran but rough, he needed space for a project. i paid him 1200 quid and drove it back to my garage.
I robbed a few parts. i was taking the bonnet off one day as i had decided to stash it as spares and scrap bodyshell. One of my neighbours saw it and on finding there was no rust he offered me 1800 quid on spot. last i saw of it. in 2007 you could buy a mint one for 10 grand and plenty of projects for less than 3 grand. if only i knew...

1983 Porsche 911 SC in Guards Red. Liking this a lot.

The famous Joost Hermes 911 G in and out blackness. Pretty cool 912 is a DauwtrappeRS regular too.

As much as I'd love an ST or a '74 RS the red '83 at the top of the page is perfect because it brings back memories of 14 y.o. me sitting in the back with my knees around my ears trying to convince my dad that it's fine. Then my mum pointed out that there was no room for the dog and we ended up with an Audi. Such a shame.

Pic for the thread: They're 487% better than the sports seats, plus they save 22Kg.

I was told when I got them they were from a Mitsubishi Evo 9, I think they are Recaro SRs, but I couldn't say which model. They bolt to Bride rails, that came with them, which look exactly the same as the Recaro ones. Just two rails and a handle. As below

https://www.capitalseating.co.uk/recaro-seat-slide...

I hope that helps, they really are great.
