Lol. That looks like a lecture.
Yes, I did warn him about Evo Triangle. hehe

Of course, we're making assumptions here. They could just be giving directions to the nearest donut shop.

Anyway. A photo kindly sent to me by a guy who posted photos from the Oulton RS day on the Porsche Owners Facebook page. Proof Cup 2 tyres do still (sort of) work in the wet:

He doesn’t look too irate, which could mean one of two things :
He’s caught them driving like naughty boys and got them bang to rights, or he’s just giving them a friendly chat ...
Hopefully the accused law abiding gentleman in question, will elucidate further ...

Probably telling him his rear number plate is a bit tricky to read.

O/T for those not in the know, the lecture theatre: https://goo.gl/maps/B2YE8uitzn32

The 'word' is now, for those who've not heard, that not only will the infamous "Evo Triangle" (the excellent roads north of the A5 bounded by Pentrefoelas, Denbigh and Ruthin) be more heavily policed, but that there is also a proposal to install average speed cameras. To be fair, this is after a few very unfortunate incidents where the 'wrong sort' of drivers have caused considerable problems. Given the publicity the roads get, not least in the beautiful if borderline legal videos of the likes of Harris and Catchpole, it's sadly inevitable.

About the average speed cameras: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

A beautifully shot video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oaUCdAdaaj8

Don’t share the exact location Digga! We want the place to remain to be a ‘secret’ laughwink

Two minutes earlier we were there filming this:

https://youtu.be/ez9SJK3ulZc

On the third run, my friend (silver car) was leading, I backed off so my other friend could take some nice photos, I came around the corner doing 30mph, saw the silver car stopped with a police car with flashing lights stopping beside him redface

My friend then pulled into the lay-by, then the police car waved me into the lay-by also, then the police bike arrived. It turned out they wanted us to stop ‘playing’ for a second so they could let some wide lorries through (wind farm being built near by).

The policeman’s a ‘car guy’, ex Nissan GTR owner; had met Jethro Bovingdon (ex EVO magazine) when he was there road testing; he said he would like a 911 next. Really friendly gent; no telling off. Hence I managed to take the picture. biggrin

I'd call that a result biggrin

As for Diggs comments, I lost count of the number of times I sent PM's to PH'ers and Rennlisters asking them to edit/delete their posts after they'd insisted on publishing their escapades around the Triangle on here 12-14 years ago.

It was clear even back then that the more publicity that was generated on here and Rennlist (and no doubt a myriad other websites) what fate lay in store for The Triangle.

It was all too obvious that what was a wonderful stretch of road was soon to become the equivalent of a Welsh 'Ring with all its attendant issues. Regrettably it all came too true and the end result was tragic :

As Slippy says, a result! The police bike patrol riders at Oulton the day before were also just interested in the cars.

That’s some years ago now. It used to have a very Black Forest esque feel to it, as you’ve said, unfortunately it’s ruined now frown

The trouble is, it's all now 'on the radar' for the police, so we're at the stage where it is best people know that they cannot drive with impunity anywhere in that area - you need to drive responsibly, because the law is out and about and tearing up the roads is only going to increase the likelihood of more draconian measures, as well as risking your licencse.

Not a great photo, but thought you guys would appreciate this one. Taken on Saturday along the shores of Loch Ness heading down from Inverness.

A very nice GT3 Touring in crayon.

That is a great Catchpole vid, but I think this one tops it, for noise, drama AND speed :
