Anyone else still have delays with their Cayenne? Its apparently on its way to the UK now. But they still haven't pulled the date back from second week of May. Perhaps they don't want to revise it again in case theres another delay, i.e. better to say "surprise, its early"
But it's a little disconcerting given the experience so far.
Yes me, being told car is built at the Docks in Germany, thats all I am being toldBut it's a little disconcerting given the experience so far.

At least its not just me then. Normally wouldn't be so bothered, but they left me in the cold for all the other milestones for this car, only found out when I chased. Also leaves me in limbo with my current car, as personal circumstances mean I can't risk being without a car for weeks.
When I collected my Cayenne Mk 3 last Saturday, I was told that this is the first customer car at the dealership and possibly in the country. Drove on A road and town today but the average has not crossed 30mpg figure yet! Adaptive air suspension works magic on rough roads with potholes.

I picked mine up today from Reading - a Cayenne S in Moonlight Blue (nearly black in some lights) with black full leather. First impressions are very favourable. The interior is a tech-filled work of art, and the 14 way seats are even better than the last gen, with lovely soft leather.
Given it’s brand new I haven’t been flogging it, but it has a serious turn of speed especially in sport and sport plus modes, and even makes a nice noise. There’s plenty of torque from low revs, and the throttle response is a revelation compared to my old diesel. The most remarkable thing is the ride; both more comfortable and more controlled than my old diesel on air suspension, which I put down to the new 3 chamber air springs. I can’t comment on the rear axle steering yet, but I look forward to seeing how it handles some twisty roads!

Blue looks really good, first one i've seen. With the chrome rails and additional silver/chrome area offered by the spyder wheels it makes a really good combo.
Really wish they did deviated stitching on the black interior. Nice silver stitching would complete the theme IMO. Still can't get used to the stupid camera positioning in the front grill

Yes, the active cruise radar in the grille is a bit annoying; it’s a lot less obvious if you choose the all black colour scheme, but I wanted some brightwork to contrast the rest of the dark exterior. Dare I say, it isn’t as if the Cayenne is the prettiest car in the world to start with though ;-)pete said:

^^^ that looks very very good and probably how I'd spec one. Wheels look fantastic and go well with the silver window trim. Interior looks loads better with extended leather too. V. nice. Out of interest where did you end up selling your car? Buyer I had lined up and asked to wait has found something else I should have just sold it and rented, but didn't think about that option at the time.Saj
Porsche have really messed me around from beginning to end with this order

I advertised here on Pistonheads, and Autotrader, no calls for the first week, then 2nd week onwards at least 2 enquiries per day, first guy to come and see bought the car, but it was a hugely specced car, 1 owner 44k miles etcPorsche have really messed me around from beginning to end with this order

Thanks might give Autotrader a try. Usually friends/family/etc take my cars as they are always well spec'd and very low mileage. For example the current one has 25.5K miles and ~£12k of options. Saj
But I think diesel gate limited interest and then the uncertainty with delivery date scuppered the offer I had In hindsight should have just sold and got a short term rental. However, when I found out about the reason behind the delays I was more concerned about it dragging out and being stuck for an extended period.
Now I suspect I'll get a call this week to say its ready and waiting.

That's stunning Pete. I have my eye on ordering a Cayenne S in Moonlight Blue, so it's good to see real pictures of it, and especially to see those wheels. Great to see how the different wheels look on the car.Given it’s brand new I haven’t been flogging it, but it has a serious turn of speed especially in sport and sport plus modes, and even makes a nice noise. I test drove a Cayenne S on air suspension a couple of weeks back and was smitten. Still need to test drive the competion, but my brain and heart are both screaming that I want a Cayenne! Not least as it has the best petrol options on the market.
I have a blue to black colour at the moment - carbon black on a BMW. Absolutely brilliant on a sunny day when clean!

The colour is not quite as dark as carbon black, looking very blue in the bright showroom lights, but in the current cloudy weather it looks much darker. I'm sure it will look fantastic when spring returns. I really like it with the aluminium trim, but I think Moonlight Blue is dark enough that it would look great with the gloss black trim pack as well. After a few days with the car I'm even more impressed. I was initially worried it wouldn't feel as torque-y as my old diesel, but it has exactly the same 550Nm maximum torque at even lower revs (torque is flat from 1,800 to 5,500rpm!), plus the car is lighter overall, so that isn't an issue. It seems happy to rev too, but I'll wait until it's done a few more miles before I start exploring the upper reaches of the rev range. Fuel economy is hovering around the high 20s, but it's too early to tell if that's representative.
The chassis is a revelation with the air suspension, in that it's actually driveable in comfort without rolling or pogo-ing around the place, and sport feels perfectly usable when pressing on. Sport plus is obviously a bit on the firm side, but the sport chrono pack comes with an "individual" setting that I will probably set to the more aggressive powertrain with the middle suspension setting. The only other chassis trickery I've gone for is rear axle steering, so no clever electric active anti-roll or clever differentials. However the RWS is very noticeable in that the car feels very darty and responsive at low speed, with much sharper turn in than the old model, but it's no less stable on the motorway. It might be all in my mind though...
Otherwise the interior is a bit of a tech fest, but like most new technologies I have some teething problems; in my case it's problems with my Porsche Connect account that are stopping the data connection and remote services from working. That's the price I pay for being a beta tester I suppose. Oh, and my trusty iPod classic with 80GB of music doesn't work with the new PCM hardware, but at least it's also on my phone, and I could achieve the same by plugging in a large SD card, so not the end of the world.

I have gone for rear axle steering as well, and I thought exactly that it would be a bit more point and squirty hopefully
So there is a place to plug in a SD Card ??
Keep updates coming please
Thanks
