There will be a 911T (current working title) as the R successor.

In any case, I'd rather get myself on the list for a 991.2 GT3 than paying overs for a 991.1 car...
How likely do you think the 911T is ? Does this mean the 991.2 GT3 is going to be PDK only in your opinion?

I bought a nice yellow clubsport with a nice spec in the summer. Whilst lots of opinion here some of which is dressed up as advice, the most important thing is that if you want one then get it. Whether its .1, .2 they really are amazing cars.

OPC or private sale? What spec?

Do you think the car the OP has been offered is overpriced, based on your recent experience?!

Thanks for all the advice, on OPC site colour seems play a big role red and white being cheapest. Black, Grey being the most expensive possibly as more rare. Will let you know how I get on.

Are there really enough cars up for sale to determine the impact that colour has on price, rather that spec, condition, age, mileage etc. Of course, Silver (both GT and Rhodium) was an option whereas red / white were standard / free colours, but the difference now shouldn't be massive IMO.

Rhodium Silver was an £800 option, as were most metallics. GT Silver was £1,500 I think.

Hi, you gave me direct advice at the time mate, thanks again, my name starts with a G.

It was an OPC car, I think its all opinion but based on my experience for a private sale its expensive and if its not a clubsport its expensive.

Mine was yellow, clubsport, leather, cruise, DAB radio, sound pack and a few other bits and bobs.

That said I paid a similar price but it was exactly the spec I wanted. I think short term I will love a bit of money, however I bought mine to keep and am happy to play the long game. Engine problems are not a problem if the car is under warranty in my view.

Fred

Interesting the comments on clubsport didn't notice a difference in price whilst browsing, I'm using as daily and don't fit properly into the buckets as I'm a fattysmile

You need to use the term 'powerfully built' on Pistonheads.

Talked to a Porsche engineer about a month back. He confirmed that an R successor (with heavily uprated engine) is a given - only the name (currently 911T) might still change. I did not ask him about the GT3 but would expect the "T" to complement and not replace the (manual) GT3

So it sounds like a manual 911T(touring) for road and a pdk gt3 for the track!
Might return to lower numbers/sales of gt3 product yet still selling more cars with the T appealing to non track day warriors who want a purist road car without turbos and the gt3 product as more of a track day car!

Yep, lots on this.

Basically, and in contrast to the GT4, the GT3 typically sounds st at low speeds not helped by the pse which is not activated until c 2800 rpm. Some fitted a Sharkwerks exhaust to liven things up, although this clearly has not insignificant cost and MAY have warranty implications.

Others, including myself, disconnected the pse actuators which is a simple enough job although sealing of the pipes is required with heat resistant plugs. The beauty of this is that it is easily reversed should you find the resultant increased exhaust noise too much.....and it is evidently too 'droning' for some typically for example on that 50 mph limited A road when 'cruising' below 2800 rpm.

Ah ok, will have to test drive one as my bugbear with the turbo is that it feels dead at low revs. When I drove the 991 GTS a while ago I didn't notice the valve system at low rpm.

You wont get a gen2 991 GT3 new unless you have had your name down for at least 2 years, or have a buying history (that includes at least half a dozen new cars from them) or you are the bloody luckiest man alive biggrin

as said above £134k is super strong money for a 991 GT3 in todays mkt unless it a unique colour, high spec, club sport and very low miles - £112k list suggests it not this.

Ring a dealership and ask them for a cash buy now price for it and I would expect they will be offer near as dammit list.

cheers
Name down means nothing, buying history and a good relationship with your opc will be key, I would imagine they will now be very wary of the speculators who have already fed them a pack of lies on the last 3 GT ranges!
