But they didn't test the MPS4. It's not made in the size they chose.
MPS4 is supposed to be 99% of the ability of the MPSS in the dry, but properly good in the wet too. I have some at the moment. They work well in the mud and cold.
Will stick these on the wife's car when the PS3's finally give in.MPS4 is supposed to be 99% of the ability of the MPSS in the dry, but properly good in the wet too. I have some at the moment. They work well in the mud and cold.

MPS4 "S" is the direct replacement for MPSS, available January...MPS4 is supposed to be 99% of the ability of the MPSS in the dry, but properly good in the wet too. I have some at the moment. They work well in the mud and cold.

My 996 turbo came with Pzeros, they were fine in most conditions...however towards the end of their life, prob about 2mm left on the rears, they became lethal in the wet. Had no water clearing ability at all, and 70mph in heavy rain on the way back from the 'ring was bum twitching across cambers/ worn lanes on the M25/M40, genuinely scary unpredictable..
I replaced the rears with Pzeros again, to keep them matched to the fronts. Much better in the wet now, but quite a few 911 owners have commented that they really seem to drop off towards the end of their life, I reckon prob less than 3mm & they degrade noticeabley, which i suppose is to be expected, maybe exacerbated by the tread pattern?
All four should be due for replacement at a similar time next for me, however it seems 996 turbo sizes are fairly limited for choices now, I'm considering MPSS if I can get hold of them.

I don't mean to be rude, but at 2mm, I'm not overly surprised.(especially with the width of a 996 turbo rear tyre)

New PZ-4 is still behind the MPS4 in this test.
But as with most subjects on the interweb, you can always find something to support your point of view.
