4WD and DSG = a bit dullard, the OP is asking for a GT4 match so the Golf Clubsport in manual with buckets is the car imo.

Manual a great box I have fitted a short shift kit and new engine mount, really does wonders for the shift.
really nice cars but aren't they like £50k second hand

Nope, around £35k gets you a decent GTi Clubsport S with 310bhp, but as the OP said, he needs space for his dogs (though with a bit of cushioning, I'm sure they could sit in the back). Alternatively a brand new facelift R would be slightly less.

I paid £27k for a Clubsport 2nd hand NOT the S (which can be had for £35k anyway but 2 seats)

it's the same car if you choose 3 door , manual and buckets.

the S does not really offer much, CUP2's so poor winter use, I fitted PS4S straight away for all year round use.

Hubs with -0.5 degree more neg front camber (you can buy these for £220)

2 piece discs (you can buy these for £320 for the pair)

the S is nice but it has 2 seats with loads of road noise. The ClubSport non S you get 95% of the car, even more if you buy the S bits and you get to keep 4 seats and save £7k on the price. It's still a fully sold out Ltd ed car after all on a numbered plack,

It's one of the best cars I have had and I am up to 85 now ! def in my top 10

I have a Clubsport S and it is worth every penny! Get it bought and enjoy......

I also have many fast porsche's and this car is just fun! Its not just a Clubsport without the seats....it's much more! and it will hold its value
