Anyone else got a ticket going? Just missed out on the other two mentioned here!
as people go home/ or the older cars break down :-) you can normally pay to get on in the PM session.last few years it's been dead after about 2pm because it's the coldest place on earth.
It's a cost thing as it's well known that all Porsche owners are tightwads

Because from mid March the racing calendar at Oulton Park is so busy that all Fridays and weekends are booked up for race meetings or test days. Track days then only take place on Tuesdays and Wednesdays through the spring, summer and autumn months. Holding the RS day midweek might not be popular?BertBert said:
Not sure why it would be unpopular?
I know a few who would struggle to get time off to attend mid week. Being On the Friday those who are not local can travel down Thursday evening and travel home Saturday. If It was mid week you could end up having 3 days away from work depending where you live in the UK.boxsey said:

In fairness the last 3 or 4 years have been fine but cold(ish) - bad weather can apply to all locations at any time of the year in the UK nowadays.....
it's rained and snowed the last 3/4 years lol I went out in the 996 RS with slicks could do about 3 mph last year was just cold and every one went at 2pm !the event needs moving imo, but I guess it's been going so long and it's fully booked so no need.
the Donnington Park Porsche day was a better day as is the PCGB day at Angelsey, I don't get the hype on this day in winter !.
I never book it as imo it's a wash out more often than not.
Most go for a chat and the track don't really have many cars going round, the car park mind you is where it's going on :-)
You must have been on a different day to me last year as I’m sure I didn’t see any snow, but it was cold and I was at the hotel getting ready for a few beers in chester by 4pm so you’ve got a point.........
The car park is one of the best collections of GT/RS Porsche’s going - it’s worth a trip just for that alone.
The PCGB day at croft was a good day, in summer, but that’s been binned for some reason this year leaving us Yorkshire/Lancashire/Cheshire chaps no Porsche only events without having to do a bit of travelling which is disappointing!

Its got nothing to do with cost, and it would not be the rs day without oulton park,a bit of rain or snow wont hurt you or the car.
It does not need moving, its a great kickstart to the season, and i have never seen it empty at 2pm,4 pm may be,until we take the flag. Not long now.
I kept going until quite late in the day last year. From memory the day was dry-wet-dry and was great fun. Miss Bert and I were sharing and got quite a few laps in. Called it a day in the end as I was getting too lairy! I'd binned my race car there the year before and didn't want the same for my 911!
