Ok Chaps. Potential date of 1st Oct. silverstone GP run by Goldtrack. They will stand by the date but need commitment. Porsche only

Noise never a problem. Fast but very technical.

Down to you lot?
I could be interested, I'm already booked on for the PCGB Silverstone day ... how many would it take ?

Oct1 is good for me, happy to commit for this, am sure a few others I know (who are on here) would be likely to do the same.

I did take my old yellow cgt on track at some of the previous RS days a few years ago which some of you long timers may remember.
Was that car also at one of the Spa Track days way back in 2006?

thank you for the note on my driving, I was trying to scare my passengers so it wasn't particularly tidy, more daft and used the grass a few times which they showed me the black and white track limits flag for (sorry Mr Palmer..) smile

and yes the CGT was mine, didn't have time to take it on track although it will be out on track during the summer as usual. I did take my old yellow cgt on track at some of the previous RS days a few years ago which some of you long timers may remember.

it was a great day with the best driving standards ive seen on a trackday, already looking forward to the next!
Having driven a CGT around Silverstone last year it's a shame that more don't get used properly like that and enjoyed, glad to hear yours isn't one!

When our two cgt arrived in the country,we took them out of the container and straight to silverstone in a February day with ice on the track,4th gear wheel spin on hanger, crappy mitch tyres.
For another rs day down south, dony is a better track, silverstone is so lacking in character,or brands gp.smile

Likewise, happy to commit to that date - I'll probably be able to bring another couple as well who will likewise commit

Dont think that Silverstone is on. Brands GP would be favourite but there's no way most cars wouls get on because of noise.

I don't want to put a dampener on things but I think it would be much harder to get 60/70/80 cars (or whatever is needed to make it work) at c£400 a pop at Silverstone compared to a smaller number of cars @ £199 for Oulton Park for a long-established event. That's not to say it can't be done, just that it's a challenge - be great if you can make it work though. Actually, I guess Goldtrack promoting it to their existing clients as well will help loads. smile

Now that MSV have completed their take over of Donington (news release today) I'm sure they would be amenable to running an RS day there. Albeit on a midweek day during the summer. Noise can be an issue at Donington for newer Porsches but it can be driven round by short shifting out of the chicane. smile

Not known for its cheapness though if the costs of testing there are anything to go by!

Other TDOs have been expensive for Donny in recent years (especially BaT days) but MSV prices are usually reasonable e.g. their day at Donny on Fri 6th April is currently £199.
