I've just put my final spec in with Reading. They have a number of new Cayennes in the workshop and out the back, all LHD, but a mixture of S's and Turbos. I gather they're being used as the UK press fleet, training, type approval, etc.
Interestingly a lot of them are in the new Biscay Blue launch colour, which looks surprisingly good in the metal, especially with the black trim and grey Turbo alloys, but it's too similar in tone to my current Meteor Grey car for me. The black plastic trim obviously stands out a lot on white cars, especially the S, but the contrast wasn't so bad for blue and almost invisible for black.
I settled on Moonlight Blue, with 21" RS Spyder wheels, and am keeping the chrome/aluminium brightwork to match the wheels and provide a bit of contrast. The interior will be very practical black!
Pete are you going for PASM? And is your interior all or part-leather?Interestingly a lot of them are in the new Biscay Blue launch colour, which looks surprisingly good in the metal, especially with the black trim and grey Turbo alloys, but it's too similar in tone to my current Meteor Grey car for me. I’ve gone for PASM and rear axle steering - I figured there was little reason to buy a new Cayenne if I didn’t spend money on the trickery that differentiates it from the competition or the old car. My current diesel has air and it has been really beneficial when driving fully loaded, and has a very useful contrast between comfort and sport settings. The new 3 chamber PASM system is supposed to be even better, and the RWS should make more use of the brilliant chassis. I couldn’t justify PDCC for two and a half grand more though!Similarly with the leather, I’ve gone for full black leather, same as my diesel. The normal partial leather is quite a rough texture, and the plastic dash and door cappings look wrong on a luxury SUV to my eyes.
Somewhat scarily I seem to have about 18k of options :-s
