And another thing. I remember back in the 70s and 80s everyone was saying oil will run out in 30 years, so we won't be able to drive our beloved cars. And guess what it? It hasn't! So maybe the future isn't so bleak after all.

Absolutely. I also well remember being told in school in the mid to late Seventies we'd have bases on the Moon by the turn of the century.
