My lovely 911 stolen last night

yeah - agree with your statements - don't like it though.
So I just got knocked off my motorbike.............100% fault on other party, not a penny paid by me on excess. Their insurance paid for the bike and my gear. Yet - I'm now a higher risk, as I've had an accident, even though not my fault, and thus an increase in premium. I can see why they've chosen to do that, but it seems out of order to me.
Edited to add, my Motorbike NCB and car NCB are two different things - in that, even if i'm NOT using my Car NCB, I can't apply it to a bike. It's definitely all one sided.

Yeah I agree. I thought no fault claims wouldn’t affect your next premium, turns out I was wrong. It’s such a lose lose situation insurance premiumsSo I just got knocked off my motorbike.............100% fault on other party, not a penny paid by me on excess. double wow - did you lose your NCB in entirety?
Not sure who you use (sorry just spotted it's AF) - but I find Classic Line rather excellent - maybe for renewal time?
Sorry selfish gene, I might be wrong here but I thought once you claimed for a total loss on a policy that policy was in effect terminated. the should leave the OP to take up a new policy with whoever he chooses. Not sure who you use (sorry just spotted it's AF) - but I find Classic Line rather excellent - maybe for renewal time?
I might be wrong not having much personal dealings with insurance companies (never claimed), just what I have gleaned from PH.
Makes the thieving scum even more of a nightmare.

Now replaced with this beauty! 1982 34,000 miles totally rust free LHD
My insurance premium with Adrian Flux for the stolen orange 911 was about £450 per year. Who would like to guess what they've quoted for this one on similar terms? 10 points to the nearest guess.

Did your insurance pay out already ?

Just to add to the insurance part of the discussion..
I think every insurance is different, we had our X5 stolen last year. We replaced with a virtually identical car (with added security measures I should add..) and the insurance contract was not terminated at this point but rolled on to the new car. There was also no noticable increase in premium when we renewed. We have NCB protection.
Not to say it wasn't a complete nightmare, but we were not much out of pocket.
