Porsche Macan Diesel - Sales Blocked from 1st March

Yes, the issue isn’t the factory - the car is built and available.
For some reason it will be illegal to register after the 1st March so the options are to register in Feb or wait for a fix - which “could be months”...
Maybe the salesman has a Feb target to meet For some reason it will be illegal to register after the 1st March so the options are to register in Feb or wait for a fix - which “could be months”...
No harm in asking them to explain why. Would suggest an email, so they can't BS you, although they could sidestep the question :/
Maybe they've been recalled, like the Cayennes last year?: http://www.caradvice.com.au/570650/porsche-cayenne...

Thanks - this looks like the issue.
So I suspect they are extending the ban to the UK effective from 1st March.
Interesting that this has been rumbling in Germany since June last year... yet Porsche only decide to mention the issue to UK Customers 3weeks before a ban comes into effect.
They stopped importing/selling the 3.0 D Cayenne for about six months last year from early summer and then started selling them again so not sure why the Macan is being caught now and wasn't then. I guess the engine is slightly different. So I suspect they are extending the ban to the UK effective from 1st March.

Interesting. Mines having an 18 plate and I’m picking it up on the 2nd or March. Do you think it’s now not going to happen??
Be interesting to know if you get a call from Porsche asking you to take early on current plate...Mrs MOBB today bought a new, in-stock Diesel Macan S, pretty high spec, she was given a £6.5k discount and they also swapped the 20" wheels that were on it for 21" ones from a demo car FOC.
Had to be concluded today and picked up Friday.
She was going to place an order to her spec and wait, but this was a bit of a steal

The Porsche factory in Stuttgart is ceasing production of ALL models for 3 months starting in Jun. Production of models assembled in Bratislava will continue. Apparently they are reengineering all engines to meet new standards. OPC Reading bricking themselves at the moment.......No new sales for 3 months......!!
Have just ordered new build Diesel Macan for May 18 delivery. Facelift model due in late 2018. Changes include mods to front and rear bumpers for sure. Possible new central console layout as per recent Cayenne - glass with additional screen. OPC unable to confirm if diesel Macan will continue with facelift, but given that new Cayenne is offered with diesel, reasonable to assume it will.

Meanwhile I, and 56,000 other VAG Group owners affected by dieselgate are still waiting for our class action to be settled. Still some way to go I believe. Next court date is in March.
I wonder how rich VAG are? Should have no problem paying out a billion or so total.
Isn’t class action an American thing?I wonder how rich VAG are? Should have no problem paying out a billion or so total.

From what I hear the shutdown is May - Oct/Nov. This ties in with build dates mentioned by people for the new Cayenne (lucky ones got April, others reporting Oct/Nov, nothing in the middle). Either way I guess it will significantly impact staff who rely on commission to bump their salary. Had a couple leave during the order process for my Cayenne :/NoggieB said:

New Cayenne isn't offered with Diesel. Only 3 petrol variants currently, unless something has changed recently?pete said:
I had a moment of epiphany the other day when spec’ing my Cayenne that if I make any mistakes with the options, or I don’t like the colour, I can just sell it back at list to someone before November and order another one! It’s a deeply screwed up situation that’s for sure.
I presume it would be a long wait for the second one. But have contemplated putting an order in for a second one just in case residuals are strong, can always cancel if not.Plus I could say "Did you see what I done? Came in a white Porsche left in a black one"

Do think this will be the case? My order has been brought forward from Nov/Dec delivery to April/May but I cant have some of the options that I would have like or that may be offered later. I've accepted the build slot as I think it could be 6 months free motoring, I may even try and flip it when its delivered.Gassing Station | Porsche General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
