So my Audi A4 3.0 CR TDI recently had a blocked dpf wich was beyond regeneration. I removed the dpf and sent it off to be professionally cleaned. Now it is back on the car, I can't reset the calculated soot mass value, and the fault codes can't be cleared. Any suggestions? Tried using genuine VAG diagnostics but no luck. I'm thinking maybe a software problem?

The pressure sensor might be knackered and reporting incorrectly, that or the tube from the dpf to the sensor is blocked.

If you unplug the tube from the sensor when running does it still report a high reading?

Yeah I initially thought the same. I even replaced the pressure sensor itself after a bit of playing about, but still no better. I tried blowing an airline down the pipe to the dpf and even took it off to make sure it wasnt blocked. The two values I have from the live data are “soot mass measured” and “soot mass calculated”. The pressure sensor only seems to affect the measured, not the calculated. But its the calculated one thats the issue, as its maxed out on 100g and I can’s reset th value.

Have you asked the professionals who cleaned the DPF for you? It seems like the sort of thing that could be a recurring problem for their customers and perhaps they know how to deal with it.

Unfortunately they’re a bit stumped too! They’ve just suggested the usual things that I’ve tried already! This one has really got me scratching my head!

Are you able to force a regen? Perhaps that will get the ECU to recognise that it is clean.

Tried to do a forced regen but none of my diagnostics machines allow me to actually do it unfortunatly becaue of the high calculated soot mass value.

Can you fix this problem? I just got this problem last week.
