Has anyone done any of the allergy testing kits? I'm tempted to do one to see if I can track down the cause of some issues I have. Just don't know if it's worth circa 300 notes

I did one from Cambridge Analytics (I think that is what is called anyway) and loved it. Found it very worthwhile as did some friends who also did it.

I did the York test which is intolerance testing. It has helped the conditions I had, however I now manage them rather than cure them, as 1 of my intolerances is yeast. Life completely without booze, bread, pickles etc is not an option ATM!

That's the one I looked at. Did you have a long list of intolerance or just a few?

done a bit more reading it seems according to the association of British dietitians the igg test yorktest do is not recommended as a diagnostic test.

IgG blood test
This blood test looks at IgG antibodies present in the blood. It’s claimed that an increase in IgG to a certain food indicates an intolerance to that food. At present there is no convincing evidence to support this test, and it’s not recommended as a diagnostic tool.

seems the only two ways that are trusted are the skin prick and and IgE blood test

I'm aware of the lack of medical support against these type of tests, but it has worked for me.

I suffered for years with a skin condition on my face which was treated by dermatologists with all sorts of cremes with no or little effect. A colleague put me on to allergy testing as it had been successful for him, so I did it as a last resort.

It's come back that I'm intolerant to eggs (white and yolk), diary and yeast. To begin I went completely cold turkey on these items and my condition cleared up. But it is really difficult to stick to and I've now now have some of these items items but have not given them up completely. I love cheese, still eat some bread and still drink, but not as much as I did. My condition comes back, but not as bad - it's a balance I can live with.

Saying that, I'm actually thinking of getting retested to see if anything has changed.

Can't you get it done via your gp and NHS? Can he not refer you to a dermatologist
