Someone has posted somewhere on PH in the last few days (maybe in 'Speed Plod and the Law' thread) that they were caught on a' damp' road at 130KPH and fined
Thanks. To be fined whilst on a "damp" road (so I presume not even raining) is particularly depressing!Just wish my old 911 had cruise...….. In fact I'm seriously considering flying to Pisa and missing out France and indeed the whole road trip adventure. I'd lose my hotel in Dijon there and back, but hey ho.

I think your worrying too much. I've done 2 trips through France this year so far. One to Corsica via France and Italy, the other to Corsica just through France. Took the AutoRoute for the first half through France - no sign of police. Mostly 130 - 150 kph. Took the back roads the second day and really enjoyed the winding traffic / pothole free roads. No sign of cameras or police. Just lots of amazing hairpins and sweeping bends. You don't actually have to be going that fast to enjoy the twisty roads. Just pick a twisty route. All the really enjoyable mountain type roads were in 2nd / 3rd gear.
