Did I remember correctly from your other thread that you would not order a Singer as it was your brothers favourite car? biggrin

You did remember correctly, however I never agreed not to buy the DLS haha. Nah he’s cool with it as he’s getting a Singer classic and an 812 SF anyway.

My choice would be 70 out of those still available. Nice alignment to Porsche’s 70th anniversary this year.

Great to see you back posting on the forum Pete, hope life is treating you well.
Yeah it’s good to be back. I’ve been busy with getting married, talking car of my family, and the charities. Now I’m going to enjoy myself and get purchasing some more cars.

They’ve found me a lovely California donor car.

Normal form on PH is to say "Worst ever, I've got too much money to spend thread ever".
However those that have read your other thread will know you're a thoroughly decent bloke who does amazing things with his cars (for charity) and that you've been through the mill somewhat on the health front (I say that in your typically understated manner).
I hope the Singer is everything you wish it will be, and you have years of enjoyment both behind the wheel and indulging those less fortunate. You sir are thoroughly decent human being, and I salute you smile

P.S The number 70 will do just fine smile
That’s a lovely comment to read, gutted to have shut down the LFA thread (especially since I bought another one) but it started getting weird haha.
I’m launching something very soon that’ll showcase all my collection, should be bloody good considering I’ve added lots more to it since that original thread.
Thanks for making my day with that comment. You’re a good man.
Cheers
Pete

2022 is a long time to wait for a car.
I spotted the other thread disappeared but never looked at why.
It did go a bit random.

Yeah very random haha. I was gutted too as I’ve added another 10 or so cars to the collection since then and wanted to share the experience with everyone on there but I started getting crap like “don’t you think you’ve got enough” etc etc. I’d love to just start a 2manycars garage thread but it’ll only get moved to readers cars or somewhere obscure. I’m really just trying to get my cars noticed so I can build the charity on the back of that. I just feel like I can do more for charities than I am at the moment.
I even got a load of crap at my wedding 2 weeks ago because I politely asked for donations direct to the charities instead of presents but a fair amount of people thought it was a stupid idea so instead they bought me things I’d never use, like alcohol. It got turned around on me like I was being ungrateful when really it couldn’t have be more opposite if I tried, which I did try. Oh well, nothing as queer as folk hey!!
Yeah it’s a long wait for the Singer but I think it’ll definitely be worth it.

Yes coming very soon, going to relaunch it with some proper money behind it. Still got the LFA vs CGT video to do with a few of the lads from the last thread. Also got the classics to do like my DB5, DB2/4 and the 250 Lusso. Should be good fun.

I'd go with 42 myself, I'm a big fan of Douglas Adams' books. Not automotive related at all though, and I guess that would be best for the future.

What an awesome choice of car though, I'd love one. There aren't that many cars that I could see as being a 'keeper', but that's definitely one of them.

Very interesting read and really want to read the thread that got shut down before it went bad.

Love the idea of any video with a CGT in it.; Maybe post on here when your YouTube channel is launched - sounds good.

Enjoy the Singer smile

This is spot on. Ignore the usual idiots who just like to stir things up behind their keyboard, hit the report button if required and let all of us who loved that thread enjoy your new cars and also continue to hear about your amazing charity work.
Hope your wedding was as fabulous as your car collection biggrin: beerparty

Welcome back Pete. I was quietly surfing YouTube & watching the likes of MrJWW and Seen Through Glass looking at some of the older performance cars and wondered how you were getting on? Im pleased to hear you're busy pursuing a few more toys & if you can occasionally post on PH, you'd make a lot of small & grown up boys very happy smile

PS driving a Singer 911 as a daily would make for a great "blog".....

Congrats OP. Can't wait to read about her! I'd go nos 72,73,74 to signify Porsche's (i.e. whatever the nos is for) anniversary when you take delivery. Maybe have reference to the nos somewhere externally on the car too? May well be the greatest 911 ever made!

Not sure i'd go launch colour although its stunning for sure. I'd want mine to be completely unique colour wink

Pete,
It's great to see you posting again, hadn't realised he other thread had taken a slightly odd turn. How about a number that is significant to you? Maybe 18 as this is the year you got married?

Welcome back Pete, such a shame the "other thread" ended up as it did. Anyway, huge congratulations on the purchase (and the wedding too!). The stuff of dreams is that Singer, certainly would be one of the first cars I would make a phone call about were my numbers to come up. I am also exceptionally glad to see that it is going to a good and proper home, with someone who will get the car out and drive it. Can't wait to see how this develops.
