I know $2.5mil isn't a small amount but i'd imagine the guy was on a fair wage to start off with - seems a big risk to take for (Relatively) small amount of reward?

The article in the link says the owner of the dealership drowned in July. This guy is (presumably) still alive and on the run.

Inevitably they will catch him and he can look forward to trying to avoid Bubba in the showers for the next decade or so.
