It’s tricky when the weather gets snotty picking the best line. When it’s full Wet things get a little easier. I find at druids you need to make sure that the car is settled and straight before you snag the brakes. I took a central line pretty much all the time once it got snotty and there was decent grip there.
That's what I found there. Not a place to get it wrong certainly. I went quite deep to the left getting everything nice and straight. Gave the first apex (to the extent it is one) a huge birth, well ignored it really and then quite wide on the second. Then you miss the bump on the dry line exit and you are nice and straight.

Bert
A dreadful line, which unsettles the car if you attempt to carry reasonable speed!! Turn in very early, miss the first apex by about half a cars width, maintaining the line which brings you into the second apex, and then straighten the wheels as you come over the rise!!
That sounds like a dry line, these boys are talking about a wet line I believe?
Yes, wet.

Afternoon conditions became 'interesting'.

Well, every cloud I guess! Certainly given my Cup 2's a bit more spare wear than I though they'd have. Lovely looking 964 you guys have there.

It was great watching you two enjoy yourself so much and no arguments!,cant imagine shareing my car with my wife as she is a nervous passenger sadly.
Ha, its the other way round for us - she scares the bejeesus out of me when she's driving so I have learnt to let her just lap on her own to avoid any potential upset! Enjoyed or quick chat and hope the 2 dayer thing next year can happen.

R888 for on the 964 for the first time this year, normally on SO2A's

Made the mistake of using old rears and fresh fronts which created a significant imbalance in the wet, not so bad in the dry.

Thanks,
I’m still using PS2on my my cup 1’s and just wondering if there is something better?
The last two track days I have been on have both been very wet so they worked extremely well!
Cheers

Yes they are talking wet line, problem on a track day is not every one is expecting you to go where you want to go for the wet line.

The corner is way easier now than it used to be,The first curb is now not used by most since the corner changed years ago,and the bump fairly much gone on exit, also the barriers moved way back after all the caranage of the years!
Agreed. The whole corner is a lot easier now because the bump is a lot tamer than before. The only challenge really now is making sure that the car is settled for braking after water tower.

Really regret not catching up with you, Paul and Pete. I was looking forward to that.

Good to meet friends old and new at both the circuit and the night before at the Alvanley for dinner and drinks. Lost count of how many times drinks got knocked over during the raucous banter we had about Porsches, track days and PH key board warriors. laugh

Agree with the others that this was the first proper wet day that we had for years. Had some decent lapping in the dryish morning conditions and also enjoyed the afternoon in the wet on what was often a deserted track. If anything the wet showed me even more than the dry about how good a GT4 is. And being wet it only drank 2 tanks of fuel this time. biggrin

Like TDT I too cocked up the setup on my newer gopro which meant that all my footage is over exposed. Which was a shame because there are plenty of forum members cars on there..Taffy66, Digga, Bert, to name a few. Doh! My buddy Grant did a lot better though on the filming front here's a link to one of his sessions in his Cayman R:

Mr T

Could you share what you record your vids on? I assume it's one of the Race Logic products HD or the cheaper 720 version? I'm thinking of investing in one.

Lasource is usually a one man film shoot turning up all with various cameras bolted to his car tongue out

P.S I'll leave him to answer you properly but iirc and simplfying way too much it's gopro footage synced to racelogic data.

Not to mention the bIg SLR for all those beautiful, sharp "fk off out the way, I don't want people cluttering up my nice car pictures" high resolution shots. hehe

If you want to publish your exploits then Racelogic HD is required. If you just want to analyse your driving then the cheaper 720 works well as both give car behaviour data with fully synchronised video.

Setting up overlays of speed, throttle etc to display on video playback screen is rather clunky and best if you can find someone who has designed some. Another consideration is whether you want to tap into the cambus to get steering angle, brake pressure and some others you might want to see, if using it for driving analysis.

Their website is quite informative as are their support staff via ‘phone.
