put v power in it and run 3 tanks of that.

I had a hire car last week, filled up with £20 worth of 95 cheap st the car misfired and the engine light came on, I took the car back and said it's fked wont go above 30 mph and kangaroo down the road ! I thought I was stranded but after 3 restarts I limped it back to the garage, brand new 69 plate car with only 2 k miles on it also.

in my own cars I only use Vpower and my cars all run like a dream, if on the odd chance I have to put a tenner of 95 ron in I can tell straight away.

I think cheap fuel or even the 98 ron BP crap is all st stuff.
Thanks. I did try running 2 tanks of V Power through it a while back but I didn't see any improvement.... I guess I'll try 3 tanks... I also tried some of that Winns engine & fuel system cleaner, which also made no noticeable difference.

I had a dual mass flywheel failure on a car which felt like a miss fire.

Sounds like OP came here to bash a dealership rather than contribute. It's quite frustrating dealing with customers like this. The finger pointing began and people always jump on board. I'm pretty sure his plugs were changed because if Porsche found out a service is having corners cut, Porsche cuts off that automotive group.

Alright so let's assume OP actually had a problem...

Sounds like he should've paid for a set of coils.
Variocam is constantly changing so yes it can "come on cam" 10 times up to 4500rpm depending on load and parameters.
I just had a 981 that had a GPS wired into the OBD power wire. It dropped the supply voltage to all modules by 2 volts. The worst part is they really hid it well. That definitely caused a misfire with no codes. The CAN Low was also cut and poorly crimped causing modules to randomly drop off the network. Intermittent misfire can be caused by a soft failing high pressure fuel pump that still falls within parameters. It sounds like a tech a didn't want to throw parts at the car waste this guy's money. These DFI engines do get gunked up valves and it's something that happens to all direct injection engines.
