A few pictures of my ST replica from Bathurst in 2018……should be enough stickers to satisfy those with even the greatest fetish.

Running TB5's here and a set of TB15s on Fuchs as day to day. Can confirm what Yellow is saying re side wall loading.

Welcome any time Yellow! ST shares storage with RHD 964 RSR so in good company.

Bathurst a brilliant track. Carry serious speed through top section with no run off.

Driver's briefing a bit different from UK - "watch out for 'roos, particularly at sundown. If you come off at turn 2, get out of car and jump wall. Watch out as it's a long drop and rough ground other side. If the drop doesn't get you, then the snakes will"

Rsv,what ever you do,you will now need to use the same profile as the car has been set up on,because of the ride height/rake,or you will need a reset.Rake on these old cars is the b all and end all on set up.
Ideally you should set the car up on the tyres you are going to use.
Thanks P , yes that makes complete sense. I’m waiting on a call with Chris to determine exactly what my options are tyre wise. Not withstanding your point on set up, where I’m getting really confused is some (most?) people are suggesting a narrow width front tyre with a medium width rear ; say 185 front / 215 rear - whereas my head is saying bigger contact patch all round - say 225 fronts and maybe 225 rears like the Michelin TB5 - I don’t understand why I just wouldn’t put on the fattest tyres that my wheels can take - can someone explain why the skinny tyres are “better”.

I’m trying to end up with a car that is very direct and agile directionally but also has loads of grip - are these things not compatable ?

Bottom line is I’m finding it ever so confusing and I’m boring myself - so apologies to everyone on this thread !

Most are correct,if you over size the front you will make it less responsive on turn in etc,you can go wider rear which will then allow you to run a wider front.

Seems like there’s only one thing for it Mr RSVP....run two sets of wheels and tyres side by side. One set to fill the arches so it looks good outside the pub on a Sunday lunchtime and another slightly skinnier drivers set for when you want to use it in anger biggrin

Its a very pretty car, rugen motor etc is all very good, did not look at it with a buyers head on when i saw it.
The gearbox looks like its never been dragged across the floor, the colour is perfect for the car.
The 471 is good,mine was a 471 and even rarer 491 also.
Get it bought thensmile, the real draw to these cars is they are not that fast today until you get used to keeping it singing in the high rpm range, but driver involvement is unriveld unlike todays automatic porsches.

Agree, all above 4500rpm, frantic short stroke engine with zero torque. Totally different drive to the 2.7RS, but equally enthralling.

Ha. I am not sure my piggy bank runs to that! No idea what that car is worth but I suspect it’s a very big number if there are only 40 factory ST’s.

Here's mine just completed this week. I've ruined it by modifying an 82 SC, backdating it and fitting a 3.6 Varioram. And I love it.
