Some people just can;t count.........5 for sale on autotrader.

There have been very few for sale this year with 4-5 at any one time in general and turning over quickly.

I’ve got a 981 BGTS in guards red with GTS interior and exterior pack and love it. I actually had a 718 Boxster GTS last year which was a great car and very quick but it was missing something.... and that’s the sound of a glorious flat 6.
So I’ve had both and for me the 981 is a far more special car and the noise just adds an extra level of pleasure to the driving experience.
So if you find one you like you won’t be disappointed

Thanks - I’m not going to comment on the 718 as I’d get myself into all sorts of trouble with 718 owners.

NA all the way for me smile

I do wonder if the rumoured NA 718 will happen (not talking Spyder / GT4) ???

There are a couple of nice 981 Boxster GTS's for sale at Redline..I'm currently debating buying a Manual used Porsche like a 996GT3 or alternatively an old air cooled 911.
However on reflection i've now decided to wait and see the specs and prices of the new 718GT4 and Spyder..If you have a good shout on getting one of these i'd put off buying a GTS...at least for a while.

There will be a 6 cylinder regular series/cooking 718, this has been all but confirmed but not, yet announced. You might want to keep your powder dry, unless you want something right now and or have other reasons for specifically wanting a 981.

Thanks , the GTS is for my wife - I had and used a 981 Spyder as a dd; absolutely loved it - best “smiles per miles” modern road going Porsche IMHO ; she hated it and thought it was a “silly car” that only a stupid man would design - “who wants that silly manual roof and heavy clutch - men are such idiots !”

The GTS models come with all the really good bits as standard like sports exhaust, suspension and 20” wheels so everything else is just nice extra bits which don’t change the driving experience.
Mines got gts interior and exterior pack, BOSE and turbo wheels which just make it nicer to look at

THanks for the reply, I was looking at the one at redline which I think has been up for a while, I know it doesn't have the GTS interior but it doesn't seem to have much of anything. not even heated seats!

If you want to enjoy having the roof down on anything other than a warm day then heated seats are a must have in my opinion and a 981 GTS sounds so good you’ll want the roof down as often as possible

sports chassis (X73), buckets, PTV, manual box... all options that change the driving experience, depending on preference of course.

The biggest changer in the experience is the gearbox, the rest are all small tweaks in different areas with minor pros and cons. Having experienced all those options in different cars I wouldn't get too hung up any of them except the 'box.

GTS interior the only must-have IMHO which really lifts the interior.

Completely agree - last time I had a convertible I used to have the top down on most dry days - heated seats on and heater on full, great feeling.
Shame as the rest of the car seemed ok, I could even accept it not having a GTS interior for the right price.

GTS interior is nice to have but doesn't affect the driving experience, which is the point i was responding to.

X73, whether you like the firmer set up or not, definitely changes the driving experience. PASM is great but if you're used to X73 it can feel a bit loose. X73 also lowers the car which is nice if you prefer a slightly more aggressive stance.

buckets also affect the experience, not just aesthetically, but also in term of feel, comfort and staying put.

PTV is subtle and something i'm not yet sold on.

All in your opinion, mine is different.

X73 didn't feel that much, if any, different to PASM on either setting to me. It felt somewhere in between Normal and Sport, but as PASM adapts (firming Normal or softening Sport) I felt they ended up feeling much the same. 10mm drop is neither here not there either in looks or handling, it just makes scraping easier! laugh

Buckets sit you way too high in the cabin if you're tall-ish (I'm 6ft), and I found they weren't any more supporting than Sports Seats Plus except a bit around the thighs.

As I said before YMMV, but I found buckets and X73 the slight sprinkling of salt and pepper on top of a plate of food. It changes it slightly, and whether you like the slight change is down to personal preference.

that buckets look good and are more comfortable, and that the lower stance of X73 looks good is my opinion, yes.

that X73 changes the ride and handling vs PASM is fact. that it lowers the car and makes for a more aggressive stance is also fact (the additional 10mm drop of the GT4 is more aggressive still). that buckets hold you in place better and that they give more feel is fact and that PTV turns the car in quicker under specific circumstances than none PTV is fact.

all of these have an effect on driving experience, especially when considered together.

whether you consider this salt and pepper or different ingredients altogether is opinion.
