Order placed (subject to finance approval), Silverstone are predicting a July delivery:

Are these 4 or 5 seaters ? The Panamera estate was a nice looking thing but the interior space was awful for such a big car. The rear middle seat was almost unusable do to the huge transmission tunnel
I've gone for the optional 4 + 1 .... so realistically a 4 seater.

Like the Panamera the +1 middle seat is a bit of a joke, useful for short trips back from the pub with an extra person but hopeless for anything longer, unless the occupant is a Lilliputian.

For the current owners out there (ideally those using them as company cars) - who are you using for insurance and did you require a tracker?

Aviva Private Clients offer a very comprehensive policy which includes fully comp on any car that isn't yours.

I did require a tracker but the Taycan comes with a built in system which you can activate for IIRC £280 a year.

A lot of the private client policies offer this and also require trackers. I’d argue they’re overkill on these cars though! Our policy for the Taycan (privately owned but with business use) is, if memory serves correctly, sub £500 with no tracker requirement. I’d wager Aviva aren’t much cheaper plus the cost of the tracker. Just a mainstream insurer via confused/meerkats. We figured that if it needs accident damage work it’ll be back to Porsche anyway because the independent body shops typically won’t yet have knowledge of EVs.

I was going to get a tracker anyway so I wasn't too bothered.

Plus my age and location/where it's parked tends to still go against me. The cost of insurance wasn't something I got too worked up about, I knew I was in for a shafting.

So my finance was approved yesterday and we're going in next week to finalise the specification on our Cross Turismo.

Pretty happy with the specification we've opted for (4s with a few options) but i'm still a little undecided on exterior colour (interior is sorted as we'd like the red leather).

So my wife's selection in order of preference:

  • Frozen blue
  • Mamba green
  • Gentian blue
All of which i think will work with the interior choice.

I'd be happy with any of those and i'd also add cherry metallic to the list (but possibly a little too much brown in it)

My concern with frozen blue is that from the pictures i've seen it almost looks to be completely different colours depending on the light.

Has any got a frozen blue car?

I have a frozen blue car.

In the flesh it is a very striking colour and certainly not under the radar. It does seem to generate a reaction from people - both ways. You will get a lot of attention - that may not be your thing - it’s not really mine but actually it’s been quite nice.

I think quite a lot of owners have the colour so sure it won’t be that hard to find one to see in person.

I can't work out the colour from the photos i've seen on line - some seem to be a very bold (baby/powder) blue colour and in others it seems more 'silvery'

I went for Gentian but only because I didn't have the balls or want to stand out as much as I perceived I would in Mamba Green, bloody love that colour though.

My colleague has black with red interior and I am a huge fan of it, it's not too in your face.

I've never seen Frozen Blue in real life but it's the sort of car that gets away with the more in your face colours, you certainly can't go wrong although I do like seeing them in different colours to white and black.

Another Frozen Blue picture from my local OPC. Looks much better in person than on the configurator IMO.

Order placed for a 4S saloon this week on behalf of my father, first Porsche and first EV in the family. Something to look forward to!

Nice!

That was a strong contender for mine. I am also, still, flip-flopping over 20" wheels or the stunning 21" like you have. They will be a bit noisier and less refined and the word is they rob about 10-15 miles from the range (is this correct PH?) but they are some of the most beautiful OEM optional wheels. Ever.

July arrival? Mine is roughly July build, but I ordered week after launch.

That looks very nice.

We're booked in to Silverstone on Friday to finalise our order so i think we'll have to make a decision on the day

Yours is very much an exact replica of mine though spec not locked yet. Trouble with the new 21'' rims is they are like Digga says too stunning to turn down. They make all other Taycan wheels(both 20'' and 21'') seem ugly in comparison.
I really like Carrera white but will probably stick with good old boring Volcano grey.

I think this will be our final spec (a few changes from the last version):
