Anyone know what the costs are for a precision day?

£800 for your own car. If you want to rent an RS for the day rather than use your won think that’s another £1800. GT3 is £1400 I think from memory.

Very expensive day out if you rent one of their cars.

Although I was at a track day a couple of weeks ago where you could rent a McLaren 570 GT4 and that was £2000 an hour ! Obviously the latter is a race car but even so that’s a chunk of change.

Brilliant to read about your birthday at PEC Pete! And fantastic of Redback to have given it to a stranger. What a dude!

Can I ask a question about the current set up? I was emailed out of the blue today to make a PEC 718 Spyder booking. I assume that means that I am getting a Spyder build slot...which is great news, if correct.

I’m wondering whether to book my wife to go with me. She has absolutely zero experience of any sort of advanced driving let alone track stuff, but I’d love for her to get an experience of it all as she will probably want to drive the Spyder but may nervous to do so.

Question is, do they cater for the total novice? Will she be ok without the instructor being sat in the car? Is the radio assistance good enough for someone who won’t even know where the handbrake is?

If she and I do the half day session together, will we both be out in separate cars at the same time, or does one of you watch while the other is out?

I better call the dealer tomorrow to make sure it’s ok to book the day having not actually had a build slot confirmed yet!??

Appreciate any help.

They definitely do cater for the novice. My wife went (which took a lot of persuading) she really enjoyed it. Normally would only be one of you in the car...but maybe now they’d allow both of you. Give them a call.

How busy was it for anyone that’s been recently? Booked in my GT4 day and I’m curious if there’s less cars about given you effectively need to double up with the instructor in another car.

I’m hoping they cater for novices too as I’ve booked my better half into the same experience but in a 992 Carrera 2s (spare voucher) Don’t think she’s ever driven anything rear wheel drive or with more than 140 brake hehe

Having just about written off an E type the day before with a big scratch on my head, I really did not feel like going to the PEC.

I did it though and it was fantastic.

With Covid regulations in place, instead of sharing a Carrera with an instructor, we got a 911 each. We then played cat and mouse.

We then went faster and faster on radio contact until we were at my max ability. I felt comfortable and safe, however I has drifting 4 wheels on some of the corners at 95 mph and more, seeing 1.5gs on the accelorometer.

At the end of the day I was so pleased I had made the effort. Not only was it super fun, we were really allowed to push the cars to what felt like 200% of what was achievable on the road.

It made me forget all about the destroyed Jag. A great time.

Congrats on the 718 build slot! Give PEC a call and see what they can sort out for you and your wife. I'm sure they will be accommodating.

I would say that now is a great time to book in, due to restrictions the number attending is limited to less than 50% of what it used to be. This means loads of room on track, except for the queue of 3 cars including me for the kick-late I forgot there was anyone else there. Possibly because I was on a Monday morning it was even quieter than the new usual.

Sorry to hear about the E type ! What happened. 95 mph on a bend on the PEC tracks is going some....struggling to think where you can do that !

Precision Day’s are fully booked until the end of the year.....I am on the waiting list for next year. The day I went on there were only six people doing the course because of Covid. You can book anything else very easily but because of the limited numbers and the fact that they use the main circuit (which they have limited access to) it’s difficult to get a place. We were split into two groups so when we did go on the main circuit there were only three of us with our instructors. RS is indeed noticeably quicker....there was one being very well driven when I was out on track. PEC instructor reckons RS is 15% quicker in terms of cornering speeds.
Yes, you are right. Even in the past its can be difficult to get a spot if your slow!

I just meant that i cant see instructors back in cars with customers anytime in the next 6-9 months at least, therefore no rush to book early in the year when chances of inclement weather are higher!
