OP if you do not buy I'd be very interested in this car. It would make a fantastic project car to send to Nine Excellence for the treatment. 0-300kph in 18 secs anyone smile

Is it really only #40k for gen 2 991 turbo s? SWMBOs 18 plate turbo s feels bullet proof. Our exclusive and other options cost £20k let alone the car! hehe

OP - If I was in your position I would book a Peter Morgan inspection. I have used them for my last 3 911 purchases and have found them to be invaluable.
To me they enable me to go into a purchase with my eyes wide open, providing me with the confidence that I was buying the right car for me with no surprises. I would not buy a Porsche without one no matter what the provenance.
good luck.

well, looks like you won't have any difficulty selling it, if for whatever reason you don't want to keep it ...

Let’s see.

So far you’ve not said how much your pal wants for the car?

People are speculating at £40k

How much is it?

If you can pick up a a 991.2 turbo s for in the region of £40k its a no brainer. List on mine was also pretty high £175,000! ^^^ Why do you think he'd not buy?

When people, particularly new ones, post on here it usually results in nothing happening.

They ask just to make them feel better and realise it’s not for them.

It’s a few days in now.

Why hasn’t he bought the car.

Yes, I’m cynical but let’s see.

Always better to be half glass full than half glass empty but no surprise even if someone does not buy a 130,000 mile 991 turbo s. I'll lay a wager he buys it and posts pics as soon as he has his mits on it because at that sort of money he can walk in blindfolded, sign on the dotted line and know he'll have virtually depreciation free motoring for the next 3-5 years. It really is that chepa if its half the price of the cheapest one in the ads which at circa £80k gen 1 with 10k-20k miles smile

I hope he does buy it however

1. The cheapest 2016 Turbo S with average mileage I can see on Autotrader is in excess of £100,000

2. What car does the guy currently have as to go from anything remotely normal to a Turbo S is a massive step.

3. Why is the guy selling it cheap? Presumably he’s not a charity and is exploring all avenues.

I’m not getting the sense this guy is a buyer.

I agree I don't think I've seen a gen 2 for less than £100,000 and at £50k I'd not even consider it. Needs to be super super cheap with that mileage for someone to have a punt as the worry is the gearbox or engine fails and then after anew engine/pdk box the car will stand you in at the same sort of money as a 10k mile gen 1 991 turbo s. You'd be better of buying the gen 1 in the first place from an ownership experience point of view and also resale.

turbo s no more taxing to drive than a Prius. Just remember its so fast you also need to also stop / brake but other than that the car is a total pussycat! Best real world car Porsche makes for me. Nothing can hold a candle to it even today in the days of 720s etc when you include ease of ownership etc.

It was me that speculated 40k but we don’t know the price.

Was merely a guess from me but it’s irrelevant.

I hope he buys it and keeps us updated, would be different!!

Bookmarked.

Problem is if the story is as described OP's mate would sell the car at least 10 times over pretty much as soon as he listed it on Autotrader. Which begs the question why he isn't considering doing that.

Possibly because he's had three years of enormous fun, he knows he's going to be bid in the balls and given a hard time by buyers, and likes the OP?

Perhaps. If the price is very keen then anyone interested in buying isn't likely to haggle though, as they know they'll lose out to whoever else is already trying to get through on the phone.

Agreed, but I suspect the offer of 50% of a standard mileage one is not a public one smile This way, he sells a car to a mate, doesn't have to deal with the innits. A public advert would presumably be 70/80 plus.

what for a 130k mile 991 turbo s? It will be up against 10k mile gen 1 cars which are just as lovely?

Brill to hear its been used properly. We've done 14k miles since March 18 and we use ours a fair bit. How this guys done 130k miles is unbelievable. Must be an Uber driver!

Yup, fair point. Hopefully OP's mate wlll honour the price for one of the many interested parties on here if the OP doesn't want to follow through smile
