They only thing I can't offer is expensive coffee and a pretty receptionist.
And backup if anything is amiss and not covered by warranty, or an easy part-ex, or non-means tested finance, or 'credit' towards GT cars etc......

Zero back up imo, part ex you can offer as easy as an OPC via we buy any car, Finance via JBR etc.
the cars either in warranty or not.

So all easy offered on private sales these days.

Maybe true, although I disagree re. goodwill if the OPC is a good one, but not all in one place in one easy transaction at the same time.

Convenience can be worth a lot to people.

Back up? It has a warranty and anybody with an ounce of common sense will check the car over and see all is in order. That’s what I did when buying privately recently. You’re get more for a PX elsewhere. Finance is easy to arrange. And as for credit towards a future GT car, that is very unlikely as you’d have to buy mode than a used GT4 from your OPC to get a slot on the next GT3 etc.

Once the initial 3 year warranty expires and you’re on to the extended warranty it can only be transferred to a new owner on a private sale.
So buying from a non franchised dealer is different, unless it’s an SOR car in which case that’s a whole other can of fish.

I’d say a lot of the really sort after spec cars get sold by independents or privately as owners know what they’ve got or the independents know that say a well specced Carrera T will sell quickly so pay more for them.

OPC’s are basically set up to sell new or nearly new cars. When was the last time you walked into an OPC and say saw a really nice 997.2 of any description ?

January 2017.

I bought it.

Not many in the OP network since then though.
