GT3, but the DTM is more an event and more hardcore, very short ratio's a real 500BHP, 600NM torques and 285 tyres !!
M-DCT thumps you in the back on shift and you just tend to over grip the wheel for your life as it spins up in 3rd on a straight !
You have to turn traction off as it too nanny even in MDM mode so very scary.

Last of a era car, the new M3 weights in at 1805 kg, the ZF slush box, and lower rev limits is a backward step :-(

A total handfull and feels like the Starship enterprise on warp 8.

Bit big for me, but the best of the best BMW can do. Even Sitting still in it feels very special, a quality product and very bespoke hence the £136k price tag.
And for sale if anyone interested. Been there done it, need to sell some stuff.

A very nice brace.

I am a bit confused though, for someone who hates Auto boxes you go out and buy one. Makes me wonder if you made a mistake getting a manual GT3

Look into putting the BM3 tune into the DTM, its a fab safe as houses platform which offers so much. You can reduce the torque in each gear and reduce the savageness on gear change without losing the speed of the shift, it will smooth the whole car out for your driving style.

Don't know what you paid for it and not interested, you lose a shedload on it as every special edition of BMW does. There are 2 on the BMW AUC at the moment with very low miles.

As for drinking my own piss, I will do but just not yet as I have a blood infection in my lower legs and hoping it will clear in the next few days.

What a great read, please don't drink your own P$$, as Mr. Demon said Apple juice will do fine. It's only a forum and I've been educated on a car I'd never heard of.

I am on my third Elise all daily drivers, had a 987 Cayman for a couple of years. Hugely competent and a nice place to sit. But as a road car was boring. The 20 inch wheels didn't help. Looking for my fourth Lotus.

The M4 DTM has the cage and rarity on its side (you should actually count the GTS models as well; they are the same thing other than stripes and some interior trim). The regular 30k competition spec is only a Bootmod 3 away from the same HP. Point being, other than the cage, it isn't that special, unlike the GTS or the CSL. The GTS has a larger engine and the CSL has the intake and carbon both inside and outside (to contribute to a significant weight loss).

I have both the CSL and an F80 m3 competition. And yes the F80 is a far better gt car but I'd take the smg gearbox /engine combo of the CSL anyday for sporty driving.

Objectively , given how much the new M4 costs and how rare the combined GTS and DTM models are and the now sub 80k price for lightly used models, its a good buy. But, let's not kid ourselves, if you really bought it to drive, you'd pick a cayman GT4/spyder or lotus (either elise or exige) or A110 over the caged M4. AS a store of value and light usage, the DTM does look a shrewd pick. Depends what you value more I suppose.

Lol you think a GTS or DTM is a boot mod !
It’s the closest thing road legal to a GT4 race series car.
To mod a M4 to DTM spec would cost >£80k alone.

People talk BHP and miss the point of the car.

It a fully bespoke build with CNC uprights, carbon brakes, forged wheels, carbon dash. Carbon doors, carbon race seats, carbon bonnet , 3 way race suspension. I could go on but it’s a £136k car due to all these parts, not a remapped M4 lol

In fact back in 2015 was it when EVO did car of the year with the well known 911r iconic car two people rated this car to drive above a 911r !!!!! As Catchpole is about the best reviewer these days that says quite a lot he put it above a 911 R

It’s a pure track car for the road a 7.20 ring time which is the fastest by any BMW I think.

And the engine and gearbox is the same as run in the GT4 race series.

Makes a cayman feel like A ave road car not a race car.

People don’t have clue about the GTS/DTM cars to say “not that special” but that’s a given as it’s so rare very few get to experience them. Very very special cars and the best BMW can do for a race/road car.

fact is people need to explain a GTS/DTM and sell the argument of all the separate parts. I just said the HP was a bootmod 3 away not the entire car.
my point is its really not that special other than the rarity but if it fits what you want (ie use it on track) then it could be a great buy.

pls lol away.

Explain to people who know no better that’s all.
Bit like saying a GT2 RS is a remapped GTS.

Just uneducated people. Where plebs will just say it’s just another 911.

You don’t know the model that’s find and you still think it’s not special which is a daft comment.

It’s interesting that a lot of people comment on the M4 GTS/DTM cars but given the very low numbers around I expect very few will actually have driven one personally.

I count myself as one of the lucky ones to have done so, car is a real event, very quick, very loud (exhaust and looks), very bespoke and special feeling. Way different animal to a cooking M4.

911R did you manage to shift your DTM?
