Unsold at £113,096 (incl fees). £145k list, 3 months old, 600 miles, wonky front number plate?? Quite a niche spec I’d say
Shocked it didn’t get bid slightly higher, significantly the times I guess.Unsold at £113,096 (incl fees). £145k list, 3 months old, 600 miles, wonky front number plate?? Quite a niche spec I’d say
March 24 OPC dar which was £145k list advertised for under £130k. Given that I am not sure what the owner thought he was going to get for this car…

Maybe not now, but I can see a rwd GTS with manual and buckets being a sort after spec later down the line, not a fan of the aero kit wing myself though, a bit like a 997.2 manual GTS is today compared to the PDK variant.
I’m not sure. I think it might work at both end of the spectrum with the GT3 and T, but currently 80% of GTSs are pdk and I don’t see that desirability ratio changing down the line. As demonstrated by this car. BTW, it’s back on AT now.993rsr said:

I don't recall any OPC saying GTS' were overs, in fact I was told although there was a wait I could order one at any point rather than the GT3 I wanted.
Opc played the gts limited build slot for as long as they could, overs were being asked by opc across the Uk for a period of time when they could get away with it. breadvan said:

As demonstrated by this car. BTW, it’s back on AT now.'Down the line' to have the desirability and premium of a manual is 10-15yrs away. Then there'll be less available in the secondhand pool and buyers may find the repair and servicability of manual better and cheaper than PDK. Plus the model is more likely to appeal to the enthusiast.
Were the F1 gearboxes actually that good? No not by todays standards and a manual gated Ferrari in the classic market will always win hands down.
The bottom line is PDK is what the majority of buyers want, especially when they're not going to be long term owners. Some OPCs are reluctant to take cars that are manual, hence low ball offers. For those that do want a manual GTS then it presents good value, except the seller will be reluctant to sell it at what the market sees it at given their brain can't compute how much its depreciated over those 600 miles.

Possibly but the 997 GTS has an engine that has a top end that rewards revs that the Carrera/Carrera S engines didn’t because of the power kit….that mated to the six speed box made it a great combination. That’s why the manuals are so sort after (owned one for five years). It is one of those cars that is more than the sum of its parts.GTS engine in the 992 isn’t different in character to the Carrera/S/T and the 7 speed box isn’t one of Porsche’s finest moments.

I've consigned my car to CC to sell.
I had some issues with the quality of one of their photographers last time I wanted to sell a DB9., so I'd prefer to choose my own photographer, who is not just working to the £175 budget. I'm expecting to pay a multiple of this figure to get better quality photos. Is this allowed?
Also, I have some photos of the car that would add to the story, but which won't fit into the normal CC photo categories of Exterior, interior, mechanical and documents. Would you try to insist on including these, of should I set up an Instagram account to showcase these and mention it in the comments?
What are your thoughts please?

I’d say that CC seem to curate the listings to deliberately provide as little information as they can.
Descriptions are woefully light on detail normally ( to protect themselves) so despite your best intentions I would wager whatever you provide will be heavily redacted!
It’s always a case of BUYER BEWARE but other platforms are far more transparent IMO.
Trade Classics

Bonhams online. ( preferred them before they were bought out though)

Good call on Trade Classics. My 911 was advertised on there by a previous owner but it didn't sell. It subsequent went to a private PH advert, where ultimately I picked it up. TC doesn't get the same level of exposure as CC, it's on a different level - way above CC. They really do go the extra mile with plenty of pics from all angles, full document photography, videos (walk round, driving etc) and 'meet the owner' if you want to do it.
I think you're correct CC will 'limit' content given they maintain an 'arms length' approach to getting involved in any sale
I would be a bit careful about Bonhams. They're not entirely very helpful and forthcoming either. A car they sold at auction twice was advertised with full MBSH the first time, and when I bought it at the second auction - there were three missing services and they seemingly couldn't find any record of these services despite advertising it with full MBSH the first time (at a date after the services should have happened/that were missing). My fault for not making sure before bidding on the second auction, but yeah. Check and double check.

They definitely won’t want you to link to any external sites for fear of buyers contacting you directly and avoiding the substantial commission. I would try asking them if your own pictures would be accepted before agreeing to list, if they add to the story then I don’t see why not, action shots for example? Using a third party photographer will be absolutely fine but check what format, size and resolution CC will accept and make sure your photographer adheres to that to save you hassle later.
