What’s the background on this then…

https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/2004-porsche-9...

It's the 911goat ... recently sold a 3.2 Clubsport ... was bidding on a 2.7 Carrera which appears not to have sold ... and is now selling this which has been owned for a few years. The history on the 3.2 was incomplete as it was on the 2.7 Carrera ... ??
I’m confused by the comments….. if this belongs to 911goat why’s he asking all the questions?

Anyway looks like a very nice car!

I agree ... I was sure when the car first came up for sale that it was being sold by the 911goat ... I remembered from the other cars that I had been watching in which he had been active. Now it appears to be being sold by Belgravia with the 911 goat asking the questions. Did anybody else see this ? Or maybe I am mistaken ... either way, another car with incomplete history. He hasn't bid for it so ??

Who is 911goat and why do you care? According to his profile there he has neither bought nor sold anything on CC.

Belgravia was The911goat, same as his instagram. Seems someone has taken a similar username since 911G is now Belgravia

very cheap considering they have been going for over $1million in the US.

"The 911 Goat" has certainly both bought and sold ... I only reported what I had seen in response to a question asked ... and to be honest, other than all of the three cars that I saw having significant gaps in their service history, I really don't care. I wasn't interested in buying any of them ... even if I was very interested in what they sold for ... the 3.2CS being sold by The 911 Goat ...

Most of them seem to be listed around $3-400k

Okay, probably some confusion on my part there. 'The911goat' has changed their username to something else and is actively buying/selling. Meanwhile someone else called '911goat' has been asking questions on the same cars but hasn't bought or sold on there yet.

Had the work done at OPC so not surprising. Surely some indie or gearbox specialist would have been a better option.

From the other thread

It's a 13k total bill, not just the gearbox (which looks to have been about 7k in parts)

In a lot of ways more worrying as it needed a lot of TLC

Rear screen replacement
Undertrays
Wheel repair
Gear cables
Front lip spoiler
Aircon regas and pipe replacement
Brake duct
MOT
Etc

No, it was rebuilt with some new cogs/synchros, etc.

Seller should have taken that highest bid and ran (if they were indeed real bids).

His answers to buyers questions weren't exactly stellar:
- First MOT was in 2012 at 28k miles.
- Seller said that was because it was in HK.
- ....and then later said that it didn't do many miles while it was there

So where were the 28k miles racked up then - On UK tracks(?) which is just fine but just come out and bloody say it as we're all grown ups smile

Set the reserve price, get your mates to bid close to the reserve price, and then hope for the best. biggrin
