That would have included traders.

If high 60s buy a 997 GT3 I might start getting itchy 🙂

Discussed on another thread…it will cost as much to finish it as it will be worth. Probably more. Whatever it costs at auction is the minimum of what it will cost you in excess of what it will end up being worth.
Tried to find it but what thread?

Oh - and I’m quite sure it would be a bad “investment” - like boats! The annoying thing with boats (as I know all too well) is the amount they cost even when you’re not using them. If you had a half decent garage this could just sit there.

That sort of thing is my dream retirement project. Heading into the garage and tinkering around for a few hours, or get some mates round to help. Kinda like a big Mechano set. Financially it might not make sense - but having watched my own inheritance disappear at the marina makes you realise sometimes it doesn’t matter.
I suspect the dream would turn to a nightmare once you found that half the set was missing (and no longer available) and the bits you did have were rusty, bent and had extra holes drilled in all the wrong places!!

The reality is somewhat different I can assure you. Sifting through a myriad of 'sharp specialists', the endless wait and the monthly invoice statements...and that's the good bit !.

I have a list, a very small list, of reputable 'Specialists', taken years to compile.

Eyes wide open...talking Tarsier levels of open, and even then you'll not sleep until next Christmas.

Here you go….my estimates are very much on the conservative side. The cost of letting a car like this sit is that the good specialists are so busy that their labour rates have to go up…hourly rates are currently pretty reasonable if I am honest….the good ones mis-price themselves in my opinion.

Great to see one that's been properly used! I thought you already had one 993rsr, but see you're in the comments? I'm going to guess EUR1.2m.

Quite surprised looking at what the vendor has spent on this car at OPC’s.
Looks like £10,000 actually doesn’t go that far at OPC Cardiff.
Of particular note - the car has a new odometer/speedo because the OPC recommended it……not only does it kinda ruin the original look of a car having a brand new odometer on zero miles but there are companies around in the UK who can fix the common issues on 993 odometers very easily and cheaply. Not sure I’d always listen to an OPC

Wowzers the last two services cost the owner £25k in total, £10k in 2022 and £14k in 2020. That’s nearly £100 per mile in the owner’s possession, ouch!

Are 993’s normally that ruinous to one’s wallet?

I recently discovered they do free health checks for the older turds like I own. I might try that and see what kind of shopping list they give me.

997 GT2 sold for £98k (plus commission etc)

LHD car originally from the gulf.

No issue with LHD. These are super rare aren't they?

They're low numbers but always seem to take an age to shift whether 996 or 997 GT2.
