And now on ebay with a £25k markup using the same pictures… surely anyone in the market for one of these would know about CC?

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2008-PORSCHE-911-997-GT...

ETA unless that’s an old ad by the person who just sold it which actually looks more likely!

Interesting that CC allowed it to be listed as a private sale when the seller is a trader and the eBay ad is listed as trade.

I don't think they give a monkey's to be honest. The florid language of the ads is like Arthur Daley's wet dream

sold for. £105,500
that is quite a fair price despite its pony mods.

Is the service history on this one also patchy?

Should be every 2yrs / 20k miles, so yes a bit over on the time.

Surprised they managed to even get one in July '20 with everything going on at the time!

Should be every 2yrs / 20k miles, so yes a bit over on the time.

GT3 timings are:
"Longer service intervals are not only easier on resources, they also reduce ownership costs. The service intervals on the 911 GT3 are as follows: engine oil every 12,000 miles or two years; oil filter, air filter and spark plugs every 24,000 miles or four years; fuel filter every 48,000 miles. The factory-filled coolant never needs replacing at all."

Serving was stretched out from 2014 to 2017 (2y 9m) and 2017 to 2020 (3y 2m).

So 50% longer than scheduled.

Was watching a 993 coupe a few weeks back on CC, silver manual. Sold for £51K (not including fees). You'll see it if you look in the sold history.

Now just gone up on pistonheads listings...see if you can guess the mark-up. know dealers need to make a living but IMO this is a p#ss-take! Maybe some sod will be get sucked in

To plays Devils Advocate, the dealer pays the fee's of 6%, so £3,060.00. Transport to the dealer, preparation and budget for any remedial work. Even if in house they have to make allowances, some you win some you lose. Then factor in being knocked down or a market adjustment before it sells of say 5%, on the asking = £ 3,499. That would leave a gross profit of £12,436.00, if it sells at £66,500

That doesn't seem out of the ordinary to me for such a car, Porsche mark up £10 to £15k on most cars at least, Hexagon are an independent with all the associated costs of a business with premises and employee's. Plus of course GP is taxed, less cost of sale.

The bit I don't understand about CC is why Mr Harris has so much to do with them, it all just seems a bit anonymous for my liking. Nothing is at their risk. Maybe it's just a good business though that filled a hole.

Surely a big factor is Hexagon are now on the hook for all the Consumer Rights Act protections, plus they voluntarily include a 12-month warranty. None of that was on offer from CC. It's the same car, but not the same product being sold.

The Good
Manual, C2, coupe in Polar Silver, 62k miles

Not So Good
Blue interior, retrimmed comfort seats and pre-varioram

I love Polar Silver on the 993, but it's not an investment spec car. At £51k+6% so £54k it would be a usable classic, at £70k it's just overpriced and becomes a garage queen.

I see this beauty is coming up again for the third time in as many weeks.

Perhaps third time of asking buyers will be too blinded by the colour to read the MOT history

Fixed that for you...But can't fix your issues with pre-varioram ?

If it's overpriced it won't sell and the risk taken by the dealer won't pay off.

Assuming a scant history ?

But if a minefield these cars having nearly bought one then spoke to a man in the know .

What did it reach last time of asking ?
