Do people buy cars privately anymore?

I bought the E63 privately, good saving compared to dealer prices. I like to meet and assess the vendor. Risk was minimised because he had bought it from a dealer so still has balance of RAC platinum warranty and they did all the hpi checks.

The cloned 1M thread was an eye opener and a healthy reminder it is big boy rules when buying privately.

My old man was a fleet manager so I have been around used cars, auctions, etc most of my life but still have been caught out with a few wrong'uns when my heart took over...

Bought my gt4 private.
Not sure why more people don't car had opc warranty still.
Had a good look around the thing to check for any issues same as buying the car from a dealer really just saved a chunk of cash missing their margin.
