Hi,

Looking for some advice, lost a set of 997.1 keys on holiday a few years back, and now that I'm thinking of selling, I need to replace the lost key.

Called Porsche in Glasgow today, and they are quoting £300+ for a key and a further £90 for coding + VAT

I'm not wanting to put myself out too much i,e, heard of ways of buying a key from ebay, getting someone else to cut, then someone else to code, all seems a bit of a hassle and dare I say risk (apologies if I'm wrong about the risk factor).

Does any one have any other experiences of replacing a similar type key i.e. Porsche, Chip etc without spending close to £500?

Any advise would be greatly received

Have you tried your local auto locksmiths?

I had similar trouble getting a duplicate of my W221 key and was surprised to learn that it was only possible at the Merc dealers, but the ‘good news’ was that it was ‘only’ a smidgen over £300 all in…
