I had some drunk idiots banging on the window and blocking the road whilst shouting some abuse in Liverpool when i was in my red GT4 once. It really wound me up. i cant understand some peoples mindset.
Ah yes Liverpool. That epicentre of true culture.
Unless you want it nicking within 5 mins I wouldn't leave anything parked up there. Even an old lawnmower.
Surprised at some of the comments on this thread but then I am only running a lowly base 718 in a dark colour.
I actually received far more negativity about it from other Porsche owners on forums than I ever have out in the real world.
Have never tried to park in Liverpool city centre though.

Sounds like they were over-excited, much like those idiots who hugged Chris Whitty.av185 said:
Agree on the ott Python colour btw, wouldn't dare go brighter than Shark blue atm.
My decal'd Racing Yellow 718 GT4 with non-stock exhaust provokes either indifference or smiles. I can't recall getting any serious negative attention in the last couple of years. I don't live in an affluent area either.I don' think there's any rhyme or reason to it, I think it just depends if you happen to come across someone who wants to take offence at you being there.

Broadly similar reaction to my Guards 718 GT4 but as previously posted I wouldn't leave it parked up anywhere busy.

Python? Be prepared; today some bloke walking his dog was mouthing obscenities at me as I went past at about 15 mph and later on, a bloke in a black people carrier came haring up behind me - when I slowed down to turn right, I realised he was filming me with his phone, no hands on the wheel! A couple of weeks ago, I gave way to a pedestrian crossing the way in a supermarket car park and he shouted at me to "fking slow down", even though I had been crawling along and then stopped for him. Some bloke at work came up to me and said "nice car, but green, really?".
I must admit, it gets a bit tedious.
I have Python car too , so far no issues other than your last comment , first time I went to office in it one of my fellow workers made pretty much the same remark , pointed out that some people have taste some people dont I must admit, it gets a bit tedious.

Something that they didn't like the look of that wasn't expensive would've likely garnered no response at all. But if it looks like something they can't afford or are so bhmade that their wife/owner wouldn't let them buy one? Must quickly blurt out an excuse as to why they don't like it!
It's just resentment, pure and simple. Lots of people want a Porsche but very few realise the goal, and many often hate the ones that do.
The amount of diesel Audi/BMWs or large SUVs I come across who refuse to move from the outside lane on a clear road is ridiculous. Somehow being overtaken by a nice car is going to bring their whole world crashing down...

But this isn't about Porsches, and never has been - it's a deeper problem with society. The amount of diesel Audi/BMWs or large SUVs I come across who refuse to move from the outside lane on a clear road is ridiculous. At the moment I'm thrashing around in a 2009 Fiesta, 118 bhp, that I bought for my son, doing more miles than normal (it's a hoot of a car) and do a short section of the M3. To make progress (anywhere) you need to keep the momentum going.

It happens, I started mine in Morrisons car park, Porsches tend to rev a lot when you start them, like a burst, this coupled with the sports exhaust, caused some lowlifes in a ancient people carrier van, think 80s Nissan paint missing type, to shout the normal abuse words at me, lovely.Had a few hand signals from white van men, I think it's the exhaust that does it, the howl does wind people up. Also if I'm with my smart looking wife, get some dirty looks. Does it bother me? nah, I'm living the dream.
Ths being PH an all waits for the customary pics…..of the smart looking wife…( we know what a Porsche looks like) I used to get agro at work over 20 years ago along the lines of "We must be paying you too much" for turning up in a 12 year old 944 Turbo, which at the time wasn't really worth that much. No-one thought anything of the company issued A4s / 3 & 5 Series BMWs though. Just the bloke with his 12 year old Porsche who was being paid too much.
